It’s April 1st. Believe it or not we’ve picked & eaten our first asparagus spears of the season. We have a garden - quarter of an acre. Not so much, but I know more than many urban dwellers. A few years ago decided to use it for growing some of our own food instead of relying on imports from far away places. We’re amateurs at growing our own, but asparagus hasn’t proved difficult. Fruit is most successful, apples, pears, plums etc
