At an Ottawa rally PP answered a (friendly?) local reporter’s question about crime by saying he was going to repeal the Liberal “catch and release” Bill 75, while neglecting to mention the bill was the result of a Supreme Court decision that said previous bail provisions violated the Charter of Rights and Freedoms.

Looks like he really wants to have a chance to use the Notwithstanding Clause.

Pierre Poilievre at the bigly campaign rally held in Edmonton yesterday:
“‘This has got to be the biggest political rally of the twenty-first century!’ he exclaimed, visibly moved.”

Donald Trump at every one of his rallies:
‘This has got to be the biggest political rally of the twenty-first century!’

Conservative strategist Kory Teneycke said Poilievre “is just too ‘Trump-y’ and he's got to make a change fast.”

He’s not going to change.

CBCTop Conservative strategist says Poilievre needs to urgently pivot or he will lose | CBC NewsOne of the country's top Conservative strategists who just helped Ontario Premier Doug Ford win a sizable majority government says Pierre Poilievre urgently needs to make a pivot and start talking more about the issue voters care about most — the U.S. threat — or he risks losing the federal election.
click.actionnetwork.orgMedia companies must stand up for free speechRight now, major media giants are rolling over for Trump and his billionaire allies – choosing profit over speaking truth to power: - CBS is preparing to settle Trump’s baseless $20 billion lawsuit against them – reportedly to help win his administration’s approval for a corporate merger. - ABC recently handed Trump $16 million in a lawsuit settlement rather than standing firm against his bullying. - And now, The Washington Post is showing a disturbing willingness to protect billionaire elites instead of defending press freedom. I just signed a Common Cause petition urging these media companies to stand up for free speech and hold the powerful accountable, not bow to them. I hope that you will take action, too.

#Australian #financial #journalist #AlanKohler of @ABC has been the only commentator I've heard today who hasn't tried to #sanewash the #BatShitCrazy effluent coming out of the mouth of the world's most dangerous man.

Kohler doesn't hold back. He describes #Trump as a man with "zero expertise" who "doesn't know what he's doing". He describes the way that the #tarriffs were calculated as "bonkers".

When they come to throw you into the #gulag Alan I'll proudly share a cell with you.

A gentle reminder to the Canadians in my feed. While the polls currently look well for the Conservatives to NOT form the next government, that means nothing if you don't get out and vote. And get out the vote. Complacency because of favourable polls can wreak havoc with the actual results.

Vote this election. #ABC #CanadaVotes

The #lnp and #murdock hate the #abc, alway have, hence the Trumpian promise to cut funding is no surprise. Maybe a rollback of media ownership would be a better path to bring some balance as cutting the ABC is a direct attack on liberal views in Australia.

⬆️ #TeslaTakeDown

Hundreds of protesters at #Tesla showroom off #MagnificientMile in downtown #Chicago today. This is the largest crowd I've ever seen here.

#CorporateMedia observing and recording the protests from a safe distance. There's #ABC, #CBS, and a third one with a #hooded camera, who apparently didn't want us to know who they are.

The guy in shorts had his ID dangling for the public to see. From that I found out he is from #NewsNation — never heard of them 🤔

I had made up my mind to be tolerant and sit through the #ABC shitshow (#Sarah and #Speersie) and while #Laura was on point, my blood pressure was up half way through Sarah's interview with the #Treasurer.

Sarah kept using coalition talking points to question the Treasurer but when in his answer the Treasurer compared his budget to the coalition' s non-existant financial policies and its record Sarah tells the treasurer off for not talking about his budget. WTF ?

I turned it off. I will learn more about the budget from better #Journalists who do their homework and explain the budget without political bias. All this fishing for gotchas is unnerving and frankly childish.

I'm just glad I didn't stick around for Speersie, I would've had to take blood pressure meds, a cup of chamomile tea and gone to bed for a rest otherwise.
