With its submarine-like appearance and covered in copper, the Arts et Métiers #metro station is truly the most beautiful 🙂
Imagined and designed by Schuiten, it was inaugurated in October 1994 for the celebration of the bicentenary of the Conservatoire National du musée des Arts et Métiers.

En les voyant gracieusement onduler, je me dis que les Nénuphars ont surement inspirés les artistes et architectes de l'Art Nouveau ...

Seeing them gracefully undulate, I tell myself that the Water Lilies surely inspired the artists and architects of #ArtNouveau...

By Lumière de l'Atelier:

A brand new #JulesVerne spirit lamp that I created from a terrestrial globe over which a small metal moon watches. The foot is an assembly of different steel and brass parts. The cage-shaped lampshade, in old-style riveted steel, comes from an antique boat oil lamp.

Walk in a place that I like, the Paleontology and Comparative Anatomy gallery at the Jardin des Plantes in #Paris. Inspired by #ArtNouveau and inaugurated in 1899, this building houses hundreds of animal skeletons on the ground floor and skeletons of prehistoric animals and dinosaurs on the first floor. In total, we can discover some 2,750,000 objects...

Halifax, West Yorkshire, #England, photographed in 1937 by Bill Brandt, known for his high contrast photos. Part of the current of surrealist photographers, he was Brassai's friend and followed in the footsteps of Eugene Atget by photographing the streets of #Paris.
