Rí Rua, The.<p>I was a bit gutted that my blogs were erased when my server died. I have re-written this one about <a href="https://blog.eunach.scot/my-adguard-home-setup" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">my AGH setup</a></p><p>Perhaps it will help someone install a network wide ad-blocker or help improve their own setup. It isn't perfect but it does the job for me.<br>What I recall was important from the last time: I do not have or run it on a Raspberry Pi or equivalent. It's an old laptop running PopOS and a virtual machine running Yunohost.</p><p><a href="https://gts.eunach.scot/tags/adguardhome" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>AdGuardHome</span></a> <a href="https://gts.eunach.scot/tags/adguard" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>AdGuard</span></a> <a href="https://gts.eunach.scot/tags/pihole" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>PiHole</span></a> <a href="https://gts.eunach.scot/tags/adblocking" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>AdBlocking</span></a> <a href="https://gts.eunach.scot/tags/privacy" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Privacy</span></a></p>

_leonov420<p>new jail on my private FreeBSD VPS: AdGuard. <br>Again, super quick setup, no surprises (+ IPv6 only). Also, planning to use this with some of my iDevices on mobile data, therefore I'm going to explore the possibilities of creating a configuration profile(DNS). So far I've seen that there are a few online tools to generate such.</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.bsd.cafe/tags/FreeBSD" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>FreeBSD</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.bsd.cafe/tags/bastillebsd" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>bastillebsd</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.bsd.cafe/tags/AdGuardHome" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>AdGuardHome</span></a></p>
Markus Rudel<p>How do you ensure a family friendly working adblocking DNS setup, where the DNS might fail but your name resolution should still work? This should be a problem for everyone who uses an <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/AdGuardHome" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>AdGuardHome</span></a> or <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/pihole" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>pihole</span></a> on a different machine than e.g. your router. Only thing that comes to my mind is e.g. using <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/nextdns" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>nextdns</span></a> and to setup there my local rewrites as well and maybe on my domains DNS? Does anybody know a good practice here that doesn't leak too much internal network details? <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/selfhosting" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>selfhosting</span></a> <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/selfhosted" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>selfhosted</span></a></p>

kaiserkiwi :kiwibird:<p>Thanks for the suggestions yesterday. The Raspberry Pi 4 seems still bored so this seemingly can easily work in Home Assistant, without any performance concerns.</p>
