On my phone I had adblock plus for Safari; somehow this has mysteriously been uninstalled/removed. And I use a vpn service with <a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/adblocking" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>adblocking</span></a>. </p><p>My default browser is <a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/FireFox" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>FireFox</span></a>, <a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/tootclient" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>tootclient</span></a>, though, ignores the <a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/iOS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>iOS</span></a> defaults, and opened the link in <a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/Safari" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Safari</span></a>. </p><p><a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/Apple" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Apple</span></a> is circumventing my dns, blockers; they are circumventing my <a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/vpn" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>vpn</span></a>.</p><p><a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/pocketspy" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>pocketspy</span></a></p>

I am generally positive toward sites which serve their own advertising - e.g. sailboatdata.com - which circumvents all my adblocking. But ads are the primary distribution for exploits - which M$/Goog/&amp;c. know - so any ad is a risk.</p><p><a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/AdBlocking" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>AdBlocking</span></a> is <a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/CyberSecurity" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>CyberSecurity</span></a>.</p>
Roni Laukkarinen<p>Fuck yeah I'm blocking ads now and forever. I also use VPN, Tor, NextDNS filtering etc. and I do not appreciate your tone here, sir. I value my privacy and mental health.</p><p>Can we please stop these desperate and annoying money-begging tactics?</p><p><a href="https://mementomori.social/tags/Ads" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Ads</span></a> <a href="https://mementomori.social/tags/AdBlocking" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>AdBlocking</span></a> <a href="https://mementomori.social/tags/Privacy" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Privacy</span></a> <a href="https://mementomori.social/tags/Photopea" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Photopea</span></a></p>
