Everything’s abloom in the PNW right now and although I suck at macro photography, lately I make a (feeble) effort. Mainly because the stinkin’ migrating tweeties refuse to sit still. So here are great camas (extremely important to indigenous people), Pacific ninebark and western trumpet honeysuckle, all NW native species spotted on the morning ramble. #Bloomscrolling #Hiking #GetOutside #AltText
@georgetakei, screenshots with #altText are nice, but a link to the original post is much, much better.

A black and white political cartoon shows a group of Indigenous people standing on a large placard that reads "INDIAN LAND." A white woman dressed in a dark dress, facing the Indigenous group, raises a hand in what appears to be an indignant gesture. The group of Indigenous people, many of whom are wearing traditional headdresses and necklaces, hold small shopping bags that read "BON VOYAGE" and "HAPPY TRAVELS". One of the Indigenous people holds up a card that reads "MY DANIELLE SMITH." A banner at the top of the image reads "ALBERTA SEPARATES". The cartoon alludes to contemporary Canadian political issues, including Indigenous land rights and potential separatist movements.
Believe these are Menzies larkspur blossoms, found along a trail above the Columbia River earlier this month. A pretty native wildflower. #AltText #Hiking #Bloomscrolling
Please Alt-Text your own images for boosts. Thanks!

I know I’ve said this before, but I’m going to say it again: posts without #AltText should NOT be allowed to trend
Please use the hashtag #AltText if you add it to your photos. I know I am missing lots of described images because the hashtag isn’t used. I follow it and would love to find all those pictures that are described. Of course, if you use the hashtag and do not add a description, I’ll mute you. I’m blind and images without descriptions are a waste of my time and the time of many others. #AltText #Blind #Accessibility

When you see these sorts of headlines, ask yourself
What kind of story is the media trying to create?
How do they want me to react?
Is this really news, or just a desperate attempt to stir up transphobia & boost ratings?
