Everything’s abloom in the PNW right now and although I suck at macro photography, lately I make a (feeble) effort. Mainly because the stinkin’ migrating tweeties refuse to sit still. So here are great camas (extremely important to indigenous people), Pacific ninebark and western trumpet honeysuckle, all NW native species spotted on the morning ramble. #Bloomscrolling #Hiking #GetOutside #AltText

Pretty lavender blossoms, small with yellow pestles, in various states of bloom, still budding on top, along a tall stem, maybe three feet high. The plant is in a grassy meadow, with another in the background. An extremely important species to indigenous people of the Northwest, who cooked the bulbs in large quantities.
A circular cluster of brilliant red, trumpet shaped blossoms of honeysuckle with yellow pestles. It is held in a hand above a leafy green background. Hummingbirds love the stuff.
White and pink round blossoms of the shrub Pacific ninebark that are covered in hair-like frills. Some are more mature and colorful than others and they are surrounded by green leaves. They are unusual blossoms in round clusters.

1. Araschnia levana, first generation. Swedish name, kartfjäril.
2. Callophrys rubi. Swedish name, grönsnabbvinge.
3. Celastrina argiolus. Swedish name, tosteblåvinge.

The first image is a bit cropped.
A butterfly sitting on a sunny path in the forest. It has its black and orange spreckled wings unfolded. The back body is also black, with some white stripes on. It also has asome white spots at the edge of the upper wings and some white cicles near the body. At the low wings it also has stripe of blue spots in the shape of a cresent moon along the edge. There are some gravel stones and pine needles around it.
A tiny green butterfly seen from the side with its wings folded. The upper wing passes from green to orange-brown colour at the low part. This one is also sitting in lichens with some pine needles in, and in a sunny spot.
A blue butterfly sitting at the left side of the image with its wings halfway open. It has a white border around the wings, a light blue coloured and some wider black in between that is larger at the upper wings. It sits on a rock covered in lichens and pine needles in the sun .
