Eco Loki[Animaux d'élevage] Avec ma chérie, on a fait une initiation à la fauconnerie ce matin. Sur le principe, je ne suis pas fan du tout des animaux d'élevage et de l'exploitation animale (pour le spectacle comme ici ou pour n'importe quoi). Mais c'était un cadeau qui a été fait à ma moitié par quelqu'un de proche qui a essayé de s'assurer que l'animation n'était pas trop stressante pour les animaux et pas trop moche au niveau éthique. Donc on y a été en mode curieux'se. Il n'y avait que 5 personnes en comptant l'animatrice donc ce n'était pas le spectacle industriel qu'on voit trop souvent et le bien être (relatif) des animaux semblait être mis en avant. Il y avait un semblant de plus value avec des explications sur les espèces rencontrées pour les voir autrement qu'en objets de spectacle. Est-ce qu'on aurait payé pour le faire ? Sûrement pas. Est-ce que la manière de faire, bien mieux que dans plein d'animations de ce type, est suffisante ? Probablement pas. Mais on y a été et on s'est fait prendre par la magie des chouettes et des hiboux Et j'ai conscience que mes photos participent à leur manière aux problèmes, d'où ce long texte en préambule (ou complément en fonction de comment s'affiche les images ici). J'ai quand même choisi exprès de mettre les photos avec les gants de fauconnerie en premier pour ne pas chercher à tromper sur la manière dont ont été prises ses photos. Cazimodo CreativeGood morning everyone 🌞 I'm up early with the parrots today and have just finished my final cuddle with Ziggy for the next three days as I am heading up to the Highlands and won't see her until Sunday now. I shall miss all of them, crazy, demanding little dinosaurs that they are ☺️ Unfortunately Ziggy will be the only one to get out while I am away as Jadie will refuse and Grant can't handle Toby. They may forgive me by next week 😂So, plans for today are a quick coffee then shower and final packing and off for another fun filled adventure on Scottish trains. Cazimodo CreativeGood morning you lovely lot 💕 I am up early with the parrots today and have just finished a brief cuddle session with Ziggy, who is being a bossy boots today and ordering me around like a little martinet 😊 She's so cute when she does it though that I just have to do as she says. So I was ordered to fetch her morning medication, which she told me brightly was "Good!" and then ordered to take her over to her cage when she had finished that. I would have waited for her to fly over herself, but the "Come! Come!" demands were becoming so strident and loud that I was scared she'd wake Grant 😂I'm off on another train journey up to the Highlands to visit my elderly folks tomorrow, and I am already missing that wee Madame. Cazimodo CreativeGood morning Fellow Travellers on Spaceship Earth 🌎 I'm up later again today, although I've been awake since about six-ish. I didn't want to move and disturb Grant's snoozing with the parrots so I just lay and dozed, listening to the outside birds, which was nice 🙂 I'm with the parrots now, who are all playing with various toys, apart from Ziggy, who is overpreening her non existent feathers. She's taken to chewing up her tail again so all the nice long feathers that grew in after last year's hormonal butchering are back to a chewed mess again 😢 And yet, she still manages to fly pretty well, which is surprising. Young parrots are like toddlers with all the the raging hormones of teenagers! 🥴 Hopefully they will start to subside over the next month or so.More crochet for me today and silly telly. Cazimodo CreativeGood morning you lovely lot 💕 Grant got up for the parrots this morning, so I am just now sitting down with my first coffee and some classical music now that the initial morning greeting chaos has subsided 😊 It's a great way to start the day and I shall miss this leisurely pace when I go back to work next week that's for sure. I did have to creep to the loo a little earlier, but my Upstairs Ninja skills are a little rusty as Ziggy heard me and raised the roof, luckily only for a little while though, so Grant was able to doze off again after being rudely awakened. Cazimodo CreativeGood morning Fellow Travellers around the Sun 🌞 I'm up early with the parrots today, who are all currently munching happily after a short, by sweet cuddle session with Ziggy who kept making her laughing noises and causing me to chuckle along with her ☺️We had a bat in the house last night and two nights ago so are trying to find where they are getting in. Strangely both times the bat has been downstairs. In the past they have managed to come in via the loft door, but that's taped up and the door to that room closed so the hunt continues. Cazimodo CreativeGood morning everyone 🌻 I'm up later today after a nice long lie with lots of bonkers dreams I can't recall much of now, but they were definitely BG3 inspired after me playing all of yesterday 😁 I'm now sitting with the parrots who have just finished raising the roof with their excited morning greetings and have settled back down again, Ziggy grumbling away under her preening arch, Jadie fighting with her toys and Toby digging in his food bowl trying to find something he hasn't chewed on yet - the way to an Eclectus' heart is definitely through his stomach 😂The yarn I am waiting for should arrive today. If it's early enough I will start working on the competition toy, otherwise it may be more BG3 today - I'll play it by ear and see what happens. Cazimodo CreativeGood morning everyone ☀️ I am up early with the parrots again today and Ziggy is in a really good mood, greeting me with a loud and cheerful "Good Moo!" as I came into the room, being cuddly and funny and eating up her medication mix with relish and lots of "Good!" appreciation. She also made sure to tell me "I love you!" at least five or six times 😊 She was in fine form at the vet again, being apparently the only one of the many parrots that day who had actually spoken to the vet (Ziggy always greets the whole reception area with a loud "Hello!" too when we get there), and then delighting the parronts of the Amazon when I asked her "Who's that Ziggy?" and she replied without hesitation, "A bird!" She can act like a little diva at times, but she really is a star ☺️Waiting for yarn to arrive, so I will be gaming today. Cazimodo CreativeGood morning everyone ☀️ I'm up early again today and have just put Madame Ziggy in to her cage after her being very grumpy and bitey this morning. I had my hand nipped for daring to offer her the spoon with the medication on and then she really took offence and ran at my other hand trying to bite it. I believe this was all due to the baby food being a bit cold when she first tried it. 🥴 If she's this grumpy now she's in for a shock, because she and Jadie are off to the V-E-T later today to have their beaks trimmed. It's going to be chaos - wish me luck! 😁I finished the custom crochet toy I was working on yesterday, so today I'm going to try to decide on new phones for Grant and I. We've had ours for over five years now and they are still absolutely fine, but no longer getting security updates. Cazimodo CreativeLol, I was sitting there and Ziggy was constantly screeching at me. Wouldn't let up. Then I realised that my hair was down as I'd let Grant into the bathroom first to get ready for work. As soon as I put it up in the usual ponytail Ziggy recognised me and became quiet again. Cazimodo CreativeGood morning everyone 🌞 I'm up later today as Grant got up for the parrots, but I'm sitting with them now after the usual noisy morning greetings 😊 Jadie is muttering away to herself because Grant has gone upstairs to shower and get ready for work. She really doesn't like it when he's not around and when he leaves for work she will call out plaintively , "Oh Dada!" over and over again. It tugs at the old heart strings to hear it. I know we shouldn't anthropomorphize animals, but parrots do act like little people at times 😊More crochet for me today and I'm still in the mood for watching documentaries. I watched the BBC one about the Titan sub disaster yesterday, which was very interesting.
