This is amazing: Melbourne Instruments ROTO-CONTROL not only has official #bitwigstudio support, but also an official #linux ROTO-SETUP #app. https://www.melbourneinstruments.com/rotocontrol #linuxaudio

My goodness, I am back in Reason remastering old tracks. OMFG it is no Bitwig Studio, but it’s the DAW that I started in back in the day.
Yeah there’s a ‘Best of Synaptyx [Remastered 2025]’ coming, but it’ll be a while. I’m just figuring out the best way to do it. I’m thinking get the stems out of Reason and master in Bitwig, but it’s kind of fun exercising the old Reason muscle memories, idk, we’ll see how it shakes out.
Fans of #BonkWave and users of #Bitwig please take note.
This #Buchla259 emulation is making me inordinately pleased with the performative promise of this preset. Metallic, FM, modulated tones and atonality are all a nudge of the dial or flick of a state away.
Offered as v1.7, this #BitwigStudio preset (made in v5.0) is available on my website. Please note the newer Bitwig version which was needed for newer Grid features.
Anyone out there want to try it?

#Linux #BitwigStudio friends - I am feeling very thwarted and vexed.
Apparently there are issues with the #Ubuntu 24.04.2 LTS installer that makes it crash with the WSoD on boot from USB installer.
After many hours of rebuilding installers I have now got Ubuntu 22.04 LTS installed. It takes a longer time to boot, but feels smooth and responsive to interact with - however - there's no audio options in #Bitwig - PipeWire, JACK and ALSA all show nothing.
There's system audio, just not Bitwig.
Oh look! I've made another #BitwigStudio v4.0 preset - this time it's my take on the iconic Drawmer 1973 FET Three-Band Stereo Compressor. Why do this? It's fun and I want to apply this as a mastering compressor and hate plugins which require iLok. Your mileage will likely vary, but I like what it does to my tracks.
You can use it for #BonkWave and #NotBonkWave #MusicProduction

Plugin Boutique are giving away Bitwig 8-Track free with any purchase:

I am currently testing some amazing #compressor, #amp simulation, and #eq #plugin (s) by a renowned vendor that previously did not support #linux.
It honestly feels unreal to me to have those outstanding plugins run perfectly smooth and natively within #bitwigstudio on #linuxaudio.
I expect an announcement within a couple of weeks, as the beta testing is still ongoing and minor bugs are fixed.
I am super excited about another vendor supporting this great platform for #musicproduction.
Updated 27/04/2025: Do you like #DelayNetworks and echoes in your #BonkWave or #NotBonkWave ? Check out my #SealEggs for #BitwigStudio preset! Now at version 1.52 (built in v4.0) and is ready to use. The updated version adds colour and mod freeze options. In this audio clip I've got the drums and arp going through Seal Eggs and into Valhalla Supermassive for delay. You can get a copy of the preset from my website and use it in your own #Bitwig #ElectronicMusic making.

*EDIT* THE LICENSE HAS BEEN CLAIMED. Thanks for all the likes and boosts.
Apparently I have a free license for Bitwig Studio 8-Track to give away. Drop me a DM if you need it.
I would have not expected this: Bitwig Connect 4/12, #midi, #cv and #audiointerface, #monitorcontroller and #dawcontroller for #bitwigstudio by Bitwig.

10 months of work, play and experiments with the #SP404MKII are behind me. I'm happy about this compilation. All music was produced with the SP using only one shot samples, recorded live to a #ZoomH2n recorder, then mixed and mastered in #BitwigStudio. I had loads of fun with this setup and I will have loads more. In the last 15 years I made music with all types of hard- and software synths, DAWs and tape machines but the SP requires a different approach. I love it.

I love working in #BitwigStudio and if I could fix one thing, it would be to set software monitoring to OFF by default.
Every new track begins with me hearing a delayed echo of myself in headphones, followed by cursing and switching off monitoring for the track.
Next track and software monitoring is enabled again.
OK, it's not open source, and it doesn't have anything to do with maps, but bear with me for a second if you're into music or audio production as well:
- Studio One is coming to Linux;
- Bitwig Studio and Studio One have developed a interoperable format, allowing to pass projects from one to another.
Pretty good news for the #linuxAudio world, if you ask me.

Here are some #Bandcamp codes for my last album "Fish Squid Five" by Båvingr. #DungeonSynth but I synthesized all the sounds with #BitwigStudio rather than using #KorgM1 presets! Redeem at: https://bandcamp.com/yum
Did you think it was bollocks or decent? Feedback welcome either way...
