#blindleben #Orientierung #Neurodivergenz #Behinderung

it should be illegal to sell appliances that omit tactile control interfaces. no, I don't care if the appliance came with a remote which has a tactile interface; the appliance itself needs to be tactile.

and if I'd known before I bought this unit that it didn't come with tactile controls I wouldn't have bought it.

bonus stupid: the remote has an LCD display, right? it does not appear to have a backlight, because apparently if I don't want to blast myself at 3am just to adjust the A/C I can go fuck myself.

Any #blind #musicians or producers out there know of a good resource for learning how to play the keyboard? I have a Kk A61 keyboard that I've not really used in quite a while because I simply don't know how to play the keyboard, bought Logic and everything, but it doesn't really matter if I don't know how to use the keyboard right? I have 10 years worth of French Horn experience, and so I do know music theory to an extent, but need to be able to translate it from brass to keys. Any suggestions would be welcome. Thanks!

Okay so, anyone with a Braille Sense Six, have you ever had issues where NVDA wouldn't see the display at all over USB? I have a client with this issue and I just don't know enough about it to give more help. They've installed the HIMS driver, restarted the computer and display, reinstalled the drivers, don't use Narrator or JAWS, made sure NVDA's Braille setting is set to Automatic, for automatically detecting the display. And they are on USB mode in the Braille terminal.

Who knew 6 dots in combinations could offer so much freedom? Because of #Braille I can read and write with the best of them and the best part is, I'll never forget it because I learned it early. It's all I've ever known when it comes to reading Now, I can read everything from posts, manuals though I hate reading manuals, books on all different subjects, even smut and its all because a man decided to invent a system for the blind people that works. Braille rocks! #Blind, #Literacy

And this month we, (me & #ElderlyRelative, #Blind & with #Dementia) are prepping for a #BookClub meeting on #BoySwallowsUniverse.

The #Audiobook performer is pretty much perfect. #StigWemyss is not raising even yellow flags based on what I know of teenagers in #Brisbane's junkie-criminal culture. (Not firmly based, past hearing two fellow Brisbane train passengers discussing how best to drink metho, & media coverage of violence.)
