I made another video of Indy's magical life. This one starts with an acknowledgement that Indy has now been to all the Hawaiian Islands he can visit.

I send thanks to the buyer from Canada who purchased an art print of
Elliot Bay -- https://2-steve-henderson.pixels.com/featured/elliot-bay-steve-henderson.html?product=art-print
May the artwork take you on a gentle journey past all of the noise and lights, and into the peaceful waters of the bay.
Canals follow the topography. They turn and wind. When boaters misjudge a turn, they have to put the engine in reverse to avoid "touching" the bank. (Surely not ME!)
Especially when there's an audience, it's tempting to try to rev your way through what's become a multi-point turn.
But there's no fast way out. A 17-tonne boat accelerates slowly. I've learned, if the boat is drifting into alignment—however slowly—just wait; let it drift.
Beauty and calm, so close to Birmingham, the UK's 2nd-largest city.
Some historic bridges over the BCN Wyrley & Essington canal are cast iron. Like old bridges over most UK canals, the iron parts are painted black and white, the brick is unpainted.
It's jarring to see several Cannock Extension canal bridges tagged with a new, bright blue, Canal & River Trust sign. The image description (ALT text) describes original signage.
I send thanks to the buyer from California who purchased a wood print of
Al Fresco -- https://2-steve-henderson.pixels.com/featured/al-fresco-steve-henderson.html?product=wood-print
May the artwork take you to a good place of adventure and joy, away from stress, noise, and angst, where you feel the coolness of the evening breeze on your face.
Another way technology makes boating easier: when people come to visit, all they need is a pin on a map.
Their phone's map app and in-car wayfinding narrator do the rest.
Clams are commercially harvested on the #Chesapeakebay. Razor clams are primarily used as bait for blue crabs in the Chesapeake Bay. Historically, softshell clams were the most abundant clam species in the Chesapeake. The clams are dredged onto the conveyor where two people pick the clams to keep and the rest are sent back into the bay.
On an unusually quiet canal, it was surprising to see boat after boat passing by. It was half a flotilla of 25 weekend boaters.
To avoid the crush, I took a different arm, but had to turn back (chemical-spill closure) and take the flotilla's route after all.
The tail of the flotilla got held at a "police incident" temporary closure, so the first half had stopped to wait.
What to do? Pass them all, and go ahead to boat in peace.
Tunnels are long, narrow, cold, drippy, and dark.
1½ miles (2½ km) of tunnel takes a half hour at 3 miles per hour (5 kmh). That's a long time of keeping the boat pointed down the middle, avoiding the tunnel walls. Occasionally you peer back and peer forward; is the light at the end of the tunnel larger then the one behind, yet? This photo is about ⅔ through, with 15 minutes remaining to reach the end. It's so hard to judge distances.
Spent this beautiful morning running out to Bloody Point #lighthouse. Located just off the tip of Kent Island, it marks the entrance to Eastern Bay. The lighthouse stands in about seven feet of water. Close to one of the Chesapeake Bay’s deepest spots. Sometimes called Bloody Point Hole, at 174 feet deep and about 1 mile west-SW off the southern tip of #kentisland The lighthouse interior originally consisted of five rooms, one of which was located below the water’s surface. The first lighting was October 1, 1882.
According to legend it has been the scene of a number of violent events throughout #history. In the late 17th and early 18th centuries the Yemassee War happened between the Yemassee tribe and British colonists. It is also rumored that a French pirate was hung at Bloody Point. The lighthouse was destroyed by a tragic fire that nearly killed two crewman and left behind the hollow shell of iron that remains today. The lighthouse leans after a storm washed out the sand below. Despite a few unsuccessful attempts to fix the lean.
In the distance I can see the lighthouse from my little beach.

I love those days when I am working hard at playing hard, doing that which I most enjoy: challenging myself and my creativity, moving, exploring, discovering.
And at the end of the day, I am tired: satisfyingly, contentedly, and gratifyingly tired, ready to head home in a glow of gratitude.

Boating on UK canals involves poo: most often dog and pigeon, sometimes goose and duck.
When you step off a moving boat with the midline (rope)—to hold at a lock or to moor for the evening—watch for poo that dog owners have left.
When mooring, avoid overhanging trees—pigeons will appear overnight.
In the bow locker there's a brush that has one purpose: to scrub excrement off boat, solar panels and shoes.

Beautiful #silentsunday not as much rain as they called for. Glad to be back on the island after a busy weekend. Perfect napping conditions
Someone thinks we're driving from up on the command bridge today.
She is wrong. It's too darn cold. #boating #DogsOfMastodon
Facing down a Höegh Autoliner on the #Chesapeakebay. Pictures don’t do justice to the size. They carry cars, railcars and tramways, mining equipment, agricultural machinery, construction equipment and more.
They cruise at speeds between 16-19 knots (18-22mph). If the engines simply shut down at full speed, it takes about 2.5 miles for the ship to lose its momentum and come to a halt. They can carry 2,300 to 8,500 cars!
The New Horizon vessel is Höegh Autoliners’ latest model and the world’s largest car and truck carrier with 14 decks, covering an area of 71,400 sf - the same area as 10 soccer fields - and a carrying capacity of 8,500 cars.

While boating, it pays to keep an eye peeled for things other boats have lost.
Yesterday's haul included two fenders (see photo).
They don't match, and they were spotted floating about an hour apart, on the canal.
