Edited because the colors were a bit faded. My Olympus does tricks and things with the light, that's why there are white bits at the bottom (or maybe I put my hand on the camera, or it was a film develop issue... I don't know what happened). ALT text for more!

I think it was so clever to link an #antifascist protest to a known ritual like the #carnival, with its historical meaning. Carnival always had at least a whiff of antifascism. It served to create a space where "normal rules" do not apply, allowing people to speak truth to power. Yesterday we created an explicitly antifascist carnival & it just felt magical. This was exactly what so many of us needed.
And now let us create a similar worldwide street party on May Day.
Elephanticide
On the side of the deconsecrated church of Sant'Antonin in Castello, there is something which looks like an odd bricked up opening, but it doesn't really look like a window nor a doorway.
The opening was made on March 16th, 1819, with the permission of the Patriarch, because of a slight problem with an elephant.
