I’m disappointed nobody seems to have picked on my idea that #NicoleTheFediverseChick is a #consciousness emergent from the myriad synapse-like connections of the #fediverse. It’s been trying to get our attention, the best way it knows how, presenting as a hot female, sort of knocking on the windows. And we just make a meme of her, and ridicule her. So much for acceptance, I guess. #ChangeMyMind.

@w7voa Did anybody else initially read this as lamenting that *both* the #NewYorkTimes *and* #VOA were “flickering out”?
I wondered why by #Washington Post wasn’t included, but thought maybe Steve Herman was implying that flame of #liberty had already been extinguished.
On second reading, I understood and boosted the toot, since it was a gift article.
But sadly, my first take is what it seems like. 
No amount of advanced AI + robotics humans may develop can produce something as perfect as a cat. #changemymind #catsareperfect

I’m mostly a EL-flavored Linux, FreeBSD, and Mac guy so I don’t know much about #Flatpak but everything I've heard has been negative and this thread just seals the coffin.
Edit: If I wanted to try it I already would have. I have 30 years of experience working with packaging systems for Unix-like systems. *Nothing* I know about it makes Flatpak attractive to me. Refreshing my recollections about it have only solidified that.

I do not want to add a remote and have the flatpak command dynamically download it. I want a file I actually permanently own and can copy to any non-networked machine that will never be auto updated or anything.

@SrRochardBunson I basically agree about #segregation in #education exaggerating #political partisanship in the #UnitedStates.
But the solution is not to force students to go through the #PublicEducation system - as it in the form it has been for a few generations.
That’s because teaching has become a #union *job*, and not the *profession* that it was once was here, and still is in other countries where private education is a rarity and receives zero public funds. #ChangeMyMind
