Bloodaxe<p>I've been playing a game called <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Cloudpunk" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Cloudpunk</span></a> lately. Driving around in the cyberpunk-esque city of Nevalis has been a lot of fun!</p><p>If you like story-heavy adventure/walking-sim style of games, you should check it out 😃</p><p><a href="https://www.gog.com/en/game/cloudpunk" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="">gog.com/en/game/cloudpunk</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p><p>Honestly, Wikipedia describes the flow of the game perfectly in the "gameplay" section of the article 😅</p><p><a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cloudpunk" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cloudpun</span><span class="invisible">k</span></a></p><p><a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/LinuxGaming" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>LinuxGaming</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Gaming" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Gaming</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Recommendation" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Recommendation</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Cyberpunk" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Cyberpunk</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Retro" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Retro</span></a></p>
Charles U. Farley<p>I think I've gotten over my hatred of different-sized pixels in <a href="https://retro.social/tags/PixelArt" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>PixelArt</span></a> games. Having simple or low-resolution assets is not the same as having a low-resolution output device, but it's still a perfectly valid aesthetic and not at all "fake".</p><p>I do still really like when games come up with new takes on <a href="https://retro.social/tags/retro" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>retro</span></a> aesthetics. <a href="https://retro.social/tags/Minecraft" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Minecraft</span></a>, <a href="https://retro.social/tags/Proteus" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Proteus</span></a>, and <a href="https://retro.social/tags/Cloudpunk" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Cloudpunk</span></a> are probably my favorite examples of this.</p>
ginevra<p>Further issues with <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/CloudPunk" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>CloudPunk</span></a> - the controls for the character walking are entirely different to the controls for driving. There is no information about walking &amp; if I look in the menus, an Xbox or PlayStation controller is shown. I have a Switch. <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/GinevraLearnsVideoGames" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>GinevraLearnsVideoGames</span></a></p>
ginevra<p>Bolstered by my success at getting through a few levels in Unpacking, I decided to try <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/CloudPunk" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>CloudPunk</span></a> again. CloudPunk is inherently challenging for me, as I don't drive nor play driving games. I don't know the controls. I'm used to seeing left-hand drive. You play as a hovercraft courier.<br>Watching a German YouTuber play a bit, he doesn't flinch when he hits other cars or buildings, he doesn't follow instructions &amp; does things off mission ...<br>I need to play more confidently <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/GinevraLearnsVideoGames" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>GinevraLearnsVideoGames</span></a></p>
