Marine Le Pen has been banned from running for public office for 5 years effective immediately after she was found guilty, along with 8 other officials from her party National Rally, of embezzling EU Parliament funds.

This means she will not be able to run in the next presidential election in 2027

She has also been sentenced to four years in jail (two of which are suspended jail terms)

FRANCE 24 · Live: France’s Le Pen vows to fight election ban, says verdict ‘violates rule of law’By FRANCE 24

‘Authoritarian governments generally try to bolster their legitimacy by using #laws, decrees, & #court hearings to justify their actions,…creating, twisting, interpreting, or manipulating laws…to punish resistance. In this regard, the #Trump administration is operating like other authoritarian gov’ts… Respect for the #ruleoflaw has been replaced by contemptuous propaganda that judges who uphold the law are “corrupt” & lawyers who oppose his policies are “scum.”’ | SLaw slaw.ca/2025/03/25/the-us-as-a /2

"At the end of his dissent, Stevens also offered up a prediction of his own. “The court’s ruling threatens to undermine the #integrity of elected institutions across the nation,” he wrote. “The path it has taken to reach its outcome will, I fear, do damage to this institution.” #Musk & #Trump are now calling for the removal of #judges who disagree with them & defying federal #court orders. Rarely has a prophecy from dissenting justice been proven so obviously correct."

Centralizing Personnel Authority

A new #Trump move seeks to evade #court orders & empower DOGE
donmoynihan.substack.com/p/cen

"Why the new confidence in OPM? #OPM is, effectively, a subsidiary of DOGE now. DOGE employees, when they meet resistance, have not been shy about threatening federal employees or contractors... The new #EO means that #DOGE employees have even more leverage in their interactions with agencies."

"Having a #court at last officially credit the arguments that any DOGE authority was falsely claimed seems an important point to be reached... Right now all these cases are being litigated against the big black box of the #government...

But with DOGE it is different because what it is finally starting to dawn is the #judicial recognition that #DOGE has no constitutionally-appointed governmental power"

The Administration Can’t Even Take a Hint from the Chief Justice

Will No One Rid Us of This Turbulent Musk?
harrylitman.substack.com/p/the

"Musk’s response was far worse. Yesterday, he made the maximum allowable donations to the seven #Republican members of #Congress who have filed or vocally supported the #impeachment of the #judges. The intent is unmistakable. He is showing #contempt for #Roberts and the #Court"

" #DOJ attorneys are trying to bully their way out of a requirement to provide a federal judge with details about whether they violated a #court order blocking them from deporting hundreds of people without due process...

The standoff marks a stunning example of #Trump administration defiance of basic issues of Constitutional #government."

@randahl no law will stop #diaperdon from going against a #court order, he has decided he is above the law, we already seen this in the deportation case. In a working #democracy he would be #impeached but #gop has decided to give the president free hands to do any type of atrocities.

Let see he will try to prevent the midterms or his powers will be taken from him.

Trump and Musk Are Getting Their Butts Royally Spanked in the Courts

Some 25,000 federal employees will be back at work Monday. Look beyond Capitol Hill: The resistance, in fact, is strong.

"Granted, these are temporary injunctions... But if the way the arguments unfolded Thursday is any indication... the administration has a long way to go in making arguments the #court will find credible."
