I picked up this hobby because my father taught me to shoot 50 years ago and then <a href="https://beige.party/tags/DanCarlin" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>DanCarlin</span></a> gave me a context for picking it up again; his Wrath Of The Khan's podcast series. I just had to know what it felt like to pull a Mongolian war bow, the same bow used by Batu Khan and Subutai to break into Europe in 1241. <br>I'm up to a "kid level" draw weight of 60# but not having done this since childhood means that I make errors of form that friggin' HURT so I need more practice. <br>Anyway it's a fun sport, I have a free range a few miles away, it's outside so I get to interact with animals and weather and the other folks shoots are usually interesting and friendly! I highly recommend archery as a past time!</p>
