Dził Bizhiʼ Ádiní (mountain whose name is missing). In 1872 the whites named it Henry Mtns (Utah). It was the last major range in the lower 48 to be named. Highest point is Mt. Ellen 3,512m (11,522ft). (Note: There's a couple of small ranges in Nevada that have not been named. Nevada has the most ranges of any state.) I've past by Dził Bizhiʼ Ádiní many times. I need to stop sometime. Reading Wikipedia, I see there's bison there!

Mexican Hat rock! I'm still trying to get a really good photo of it. One of these days things will line up with a low angle sun (I seem to always be there mid-day) and a pretty sky. I kind of like how in this shot the 'hat' stands out a bit due to the shadow on the hills in the background. Ooo, I just thought of an idea. I'll try shooting this under a full moon when I'm there later this month.

Hiking Corona Arch Moab Utah

Corona Arch, one of Moab, Utah’s most stunning natural wonders, stands proudly against the rugged red rock landscape. This massive sandstone arch, with a span of 140 feet and a height of 105 feet, is often compared to the famous arches within Arches National Park—yet it remains a hidden gem, free from the crowds.

Image from today's hike that make me think of lyrics ...

I dream of rain
I dream of gardens in the desert sand
I wake in vain
I dream of love as time runs through my hand

Sweet desert rose
Each of her veils, a secret promise
This desert flower
No sweet perfume ever tortured me more than this

Sweet desert rose
This memory of Eden haunts us all
This desert flower
This rare perfume, is the sweet intoxication of the fall
