It's 2025 and Numbers.app (Apple's Excel-type app) can't do a two-axis graph with a stacked column? Really?

Boo...

Well anyway, I guess if I want to see my weekly #DasherLife earnings vs. time this is the best I can do! I refuse to submit to Excel :D

I'll clean it up later… nothing really surprising here. Everything is grouped by week with the blue bar being the total earned for that week and the components of that total beside.

I've been door dashing for 16 months. It created some body aches and pains for the first 6 months or so, now those are mostly gone but my left shoulder/rotator cuff still seems unhappy after a long week. I always carry the bag with my left hand with phone in the right because I have to use the phone/app.

One thing I have noticed though... for the first time in my life, my left arm is larger than my right. 😂 💪

cannot believe it is occurring to people that #DOGE IS NOT ABOUT EFFICIENCY BUT #SURVEILLANCE. just like #creditCards #Paypal #Uber #Tesla #Doordash #Amazon #Netflix #GMail #Instagram and every fin/techbro business.

the apartheid clown’s #malware is a ruse to give techbros the power to spy on all Americans.

these are the consequences of your silence while many of your friends & relations vilified us for saying, DEFUND THE POLICE. we didn’t just mean PDs. we meant the whole police state.

No comment on the lawsuit mentioned here but #Doordash does create obvious safety and privacy concerns when its drivers photograph their deliveries to prove they happened.

Besides, a photo of a bag sitting by a door is only evidence of a bag sitting by a door.

The Register · DoorDash sued for allegedly branding customer a fraudster after delivery photo queryBy Thomas Claburn

I just ordered a Subway grilled chicken salad from Doordash. The driver said they'd been doing this since 6 this morning. It's now 1 PM. Dear God. May we remember the humanity of ourselves and each other soon. And may we blind people own our own perfectly safe, perfectly accessible, self-driving cars soon.

I need some assistance from the hive mind. I just needed a few groceries so I was attempting to order from #Doordash because it wasn’t going to be a big order. I got the stuff into my cart, and was beginning the checkout process, when I got hit with the “in case you missed it” screen. No matter what I did, I couldn’t get to the bottom to hit continue. I had to swipe through the whole thing, which took forever and was frustrating. Is there a quick way to get to the bottom of documents on the iPhone? Inquiring, and frustrated, minds want to know!

Today marks the 365th day since I started Door Dashing.

My first Dash was Dec 31, 2023.

It's a little slow tonight, as I thought it might be. But I won't be going out tomorrow night on New Years. So I'm hanging out in the parking lot, listening to tunes. 🎶

This has turned into a 2nd job.

A reliable source of income to cover costs. It's by no means ideal. My car got rearended at a stoplight in June.

I have a sore shoulder some nights.

I would like to do other things on my evenings and weekends, but it hasn't been bad.

I enjoy it. I have actually got to engage more with hockey (both local #bulldogs and NHL #canucks) by listening to radio broadcasts like the old days.

I've come to know my town a lot better. I've also come to know a much more broad variety of the people that call it home.

There is comeraderie between dashers as well as with restaurant workers.

Before, and when I started, I was frankly embarrassed, ashamed, that I was doing this.

What a stupid, privileged, ignorant attitude... totally unnecessary.

There should never be shame in working.

My family and friends have been so supportive.

I feel good and lucky to be able to do this. I am also grateful to live in a province that has forced the delivery companies to pay better wages.

Onward we go. Tip your delivery people if you can, but if you can't, that's ok too.

We're all just getting by the best we can. ❤️ 🍔 🍗 🍕 🥤 🍷 🌯 🚙

@Badgardener @joinin @JustFi I’ve always enjoyed #Christmas myself. It brings out the little kid in me. This year’s #Christmas is quite different for my wife and I. A few weeks ago we completed a move that took us away from extended family, so this year it’s just the two of us. For many years we’ve talked about establishing our own #Christmas traditions, and now’s our chance. We’re talking about ordering #ChineseFood tomorrow. If we follow through, I hope and pray #Doordash is up and running. A merry Christmas to you all, no matter how you celebrate, or not, as the case may be.

Today in "#AI is making everything fucking worse for no fucking reason": #DoorDash menu descriptions are now completely unmoored from reality. Hooray! I'm sure this isn't going to ruin a lot of peoples’ meals, if not actively lead to things like allergic reaction emergencies.

On Saturday I went Door Dashing and got a call from someone claiming that an offer I just got was done with a fraudulent credit card. So I went through the steps suggested to clear the order.

Immediately afterward, I called Door Dash Support and asked if the previous call was legit. They said yes it was. But just in case, I went and changed my password on my account.

Then when out yesterday, I got called again. Same voice. Different name. Same thing. After it was done, I again went and changed my password. But this time it seemed my account was locked out.

I called Door Dash support and after running through verification they confirmed that my account had been compromised. Presumably by the phone person.

They promised it would all be fixed up and I'd have access to my account again soon.

But I continue to wait to gain access 18h later. I haven't been paid for last week's work. And when I try to login to the Dasher app it claims I've never had an account.

I'm mad at the scammer.
I'm mad at myself.
I'm mad at Door Dash.
It's been a crappy day all ‘round.

And yes, I'm writing this down not just as a warning for all of you that scammers will scam and always be suspicious… but also to document it for my own brain (I've got other notes too) in case this gets more ugly.

Sigh. If Doordashers were actual *employees* perhaps this would not be happening.

If you have questions feel free….
