Would anyone be interested in a talk titled "Drupal: Still the best CMS for structured data (despite our recent pivot towards chaos)" about how arbitrarily flexible layouts and AI generated content is the opposite of the well-structured accessible experience that made us popular in the first place?

Brilliant research shouldn’t be lost in a maze of confusing websites.

The Stanford Humanities Center asked us to simplify their sprawling digital presence. We built a modern, user-friendly platform where scholars and visitors can easily access and engage with arts resources and events. A digital space where knowledge is actively shared and explored.

So I was messing with #drupal in the #homelab and I wanted to turn on #SSO with #authentik.

Somehow I didn’t find the official drupal OIDC module, I found this other one. I installed it, got it configured, and the first time I tried to login, it said “whoops, you have to purchase this module to use it.” Fine. I like supporting software, what does it cost?

$250/year!? To LOG IN? F that.

One of its key selling points is how easy it is to configure. If I was configuring it often, maybe I could see that. But OIDC and SAML are the kinds of things you set up once per lifetime. Make it as hard as you want (many apps do!) I only have to get through it once.

I mean $10? Even as much as maybe $50 I might have paid once. But I refuse to pay annually for the ability to login.

I'm looking for a content model versioning solution for #python (in #Django seems easiest) and finding existing solutions either old, not maintained, or poorly documented. Does anyone I know have experience with a good solution? Per-model versioning is good, but additionally being able to version a group of content would be brilliant.

(Yes #Drupal people I know about node revisions, go away. But not really I do love you)

Ok, so I'm (still) in the throes of upgrading my venerable #Drupal 7 blog to modern Drupal... I spent *ages* trying to get things working with Drupal 10 (note, I ran a Drupal dev shop for over a decade, so this *should* be easy-as. Heh)... It occurred to me, why go to D10 if D11 is now stable? Why not the new 'Drupal CMS' (based on D11) 🤔... So I've installed an instance with the aim of migrating my D7 to it... anybody else try this? Recommended? (I've already got a D10 theme...)

Hello from Hachyderm! It's a new server, so how about a new #introduction? I'm a #Drupal dev and #Linux freak with an interest in #FOSS and experimental literature. I blog sometimes and am trying to carve out my own little home on the indie web.

I am the maintainer of the new Node Swapper module for Drupal (drupal.org/project/node_swappe) and I am currently returning to #NixOS and #KDE after a several year hiatus from both.

Hello! I'm looking forward to meeting all of the new folks on this server.

I just happened across the Edit UUID project, Mustafa Akbay's request to take over the project & the rejection. It only took me a few minutes of looking at drupal.org/u/makbay to determine that Mustafa was 1) a real person 2) committed to improving Drupal (8 years/Credited on 23 issues) 3) someone we should trust until we have a reason not to.

An update to #Drupal's process of getting the “opt into security coverage” privilege is long overdue.
