¡Feliz #DíaDelLibro! 📖🌹

Member of #WallStreetJournal #editorial board claimed it is "desirable" to subject #Trump 3rd #impeachment to make up for damage he has done to #USeconomy with his "ill-founded" #tradewar. "A future Trump impeachment seemed all but guaranteed by last Wed morning. It seems only slightly less likely now. It may even be desirable to restore America’s standing with creditors and trade partners." the damage he has been creating since then belies his promise of a "golden age," rawstory.com/trump-doj-2671754

@TexasObserver

I'll always boost trans stories from the (former) home state I fled to enjoy a life of genderfuckery. Fuck Greg Abbott and fuck all the other repugnicans who couldn't care less about us or the people they're supposed to represent.

Another article from the same author I read recently: texasobserver.org/uvalde-trans

There'a also some great web design on display here you should definitely check it out.

The Texas Observer · My Happy, Normal, Trans Life in the Heart of TexasTrans people are a gift to the world. They show us how creative God can be, and they are the embodiment of a fundamental journey that every Christian must make.

Editorial question: Do you render text written in non-Latin scripts in italics, in the same way that I'd do with, for example, a phrase in another language that's written in Latin script?

I have a short phrase in Greek (among other scripts), subsequently translated, and am wondering if the italics are necessary since it's obvious it's a different language.

5 yrs ago the #WashingtonPost editorial board wrote "Democracy is at risk, at home and around the world. The nation desperately needs a president who will respect its public servants; stand up for the rule of law; acknowledge Congress’s constitutional role; and work for the public good, not his private benefit.”

#Billionaire baron buyer of that iconic #Potomac paper #JeffBezos has since put his thumb on the #editorial scale.

The once disagreeing voices needed in the editorial opinion pages are muffled and only bending truth to please the owner and his new pals at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave in DC. Bezos has since announced he is paying over $40 million for exclusive rights to a documentary about the first lady produced by the first lady herself and directed by a Hollywood cretin who was last seen being chased out of town under a cloud of rape accusations.

This ain't Katherine Graham's #WaPo, Woodward & Bernstein definitely don't work there anymore ... #Writers aren't telling truth or shedding light in darkness, but bending viewpoints towards vaguely defined support of the owner's interest in "personal liberties and free markets" ... and I , along with millions of others have canceled a long time #subscription.

#RuthMarcus tells of her final daze writing under Bezos editorial control, beginning with the passage...

"The values of the Post do not need changing,” Jeff Bezos told #employees when he bought the newspaper a dozen years ago. He echoed the words of the Post’s #owner Eugene Meyer in 1935, emphasizing, “The paper’s duty will remain to its readers and not to the private interests of its owners.”

...and ultimately reveals the rest of column that paper refused ... revealing "the unavoidable truth: the Washington Post I joined, the one I came to love, is not the Washington Post I left."

#WaPo #editorial by Catherine Rampell who is headed to #MSNBC to co-host the evening edition of "The Weekend" details #Drumpf's petty purges of accessible govt #data that " have been faster and more sweeping — picking off not just select #factoids but entire troves of public information." "deleting #taxpayer-funded data — information that Americans use to make sense of the world. In its absence, the president can paint the world as he pleases."
