Here's a shot from the 2023 #London #Triathlon I found looking for a #shadows shot. I was looking down from a footbridge close to the #ExCel centre in the Royal Docks.

@purplepadma It is capricious, but some master it. The rest of us just search for answers on the web! And no, not by using AI, never!
#Excel
After mostly de-googlefying earlier this year, I've now taken a leaf out of @CiaraNi's book and started de-microsofting too.
Notepad++ is a no brainer and I've downloaded @libreoffice too.
Started going through my personal documents and changing the format from Office to Open Document Format.
Ah - the thrill and satisfaction of removing big tech...
Spending hours manually updating your Excel dashboards and reports? Copying, pasting, reformatting... It's tedious, time-consuming, and leaves room for error. What if your key visuals updated automatically when the source data changes?
Excel has a powerful, often overlooked feature perfect for this: the Camera Tool!
It lets you create dynamic, linked visuals from different sheets onto one central summary page. https://youtu.be/25zHZOeBxyY

hahaha
The person on my team who had the best #Excel-fu was laid off.
From this man, I had finally internalized that Excel could do actual work beyond storing and displaying stuff. However, I didn't know how to make it do what I needed sometimes. There was a button for #CoPilot. It gave me wrong information *every* time.
So I started searching #YouTube with my work account instead of asking copilot.
And, when I tried to use CoPilot as support for other M365 apps, sometimes it gave me explicit instructions on how to do something that was actually not possible in the current version of whatever app. It would admit the impossibility when I included that it did not seem possible to do what I wanted as part of my query, but *dayum* it was a colossal waste of time.
Looking through my forgotten corner of my shed I found a gem. I was hoping to finally install some clean Excel without the bloatware, but I think I misplaced my floppy drive 25 years ago . And I have a sneaking suspicion that I would not be able to read anyhting from 30 year old floppies. #Excel #retrocomputing
#scribesandmakers today’s question makes me think of this Japanese who uses #Excel to do art

Probably the best use of a #spreadsheet IMHO
@nora If you want to hate yourself: #Excel & #SAP.
If you value your sanity: *Any code editor that can do #TSV files & #LibreOffice Calc!
Grist is the evolution of #spreadsheets.
The grist-core repo is the heart of Grist, including the hosted services offered by Grist Labs, an NYC-based company and Grist's main developer.
The French government organizations ANCT Données et Territoires and DINUM (Direction Interministérielle du Numérique) have also made significant contributions to the codebase.

What's the opposite of using #AI like #Midjourney to crank out plastic shit?
Tatsuo Horiuchi's approach
He retired and deciding to take up painting dreamy landscapes...
With #Microsoft #Excel
!?
story:

his website:
#TIL: "Waffeldiagramm" – "Prozentuale Anteile mit einer grafischen Tabelle (Waffeldiagramm) visualisieren" https://www.deroutlooker365.de/das-loesungsvideo-762-prozentuale-anteile-mit-einer-grafischen-tabelle-waffeldiagramm-visualisieren/ #PowerPoint #Excel
the table thing ties back into into #vestal, the binary patcher for old soundwares (https://codeberg.org/unspeaker/vestal - that one isn't passing its ci yet, baaad code, baaaaaad developer!)
that could sure use some interactivity, at least in development. would keep me focused.
it also ties back into #tek, whose entire thing is reimplementing #ableton's "#excel for music" schtick in a terminal, so, again, tables!
or, more properly, collapsible table-trees... not a new idea, more like a lost technology!
Oh great, now you can manage your #Kubernetes cluster with #Excel. Because nothing screams "cutting-edge technology" like using a spreadsheet to orchestrate complex #container operations.
Who needs #DevOps when you've got Excel macros, right?
