S.T. Veje<p>If I wanted to know what concerts were played on the date 2006-06-21 in a certain city, where or how could I get that information? Sorting through search results full of totally unrelated dates and events seems useless.</p><p><a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/Help" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Help</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/AskFedi" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>AskFedi</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/FediBrain" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>FediBrain</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/LazyWeb" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>LazyWeb</span></a></p>
Thomas A. Frederiksen<p>I'm preparing an <a href="https://bsd.network/tags/InterRail" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>InterRail</span></a> <a href="https://bsd.network/tags/CrossBorderRail" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>CrossBorderRail</span></a> summer vacation to Edinburgh, or at least attempting to.</p><p>As far as I can tell, the optimal Copenhagen - Edinburgh train route is something like this:</p><p>1: EC395 Copenhagen-Hamburg, then ICE1021 Hamburg-Köln. Stay overnight.<br>2: ICE18 Köln-Bruxelles, then EST9135 Bruxelles-London (with more than three hours for delays and security theatre). Then a hop to Kings Cross and the 16:00 London Kings Cross to Edinburgh LNER service.</p><p>The above seems doable, if a bit "interesting" in case of significant delays or cancellations.</p><p>I've also considered the following:</p><p>Ferry from The Netherlands. Ferries going to Harwich have been ruled out as the rail journey on the UK side seemed a bit of a bother and getting in to NL from DE is apparently very much a bother. The Amsterdam-Norwich ferry has been given the wifely seal of non-approval.</p><p>Caledonian sleeper from London to Edinburgh. This is still tempting, depending on lounge access with a first class interrail ticket.</p><p>Wishful thinking (a revived Esbjerg-Harwich ferry) aside, am I missing anything glaringly obvious here?</p><p>Any <a href="https://bsd.network/tags/FediBrain" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>FediBrain</span></a> advice?</p>
liebach<p>I'm gearing up for installing Linux for my wife, instead of Windows 10. KDE Plasma is probably the best environment for a Windows 10 user, but Linux Mint with Cinnamon seem to have a following too, and looks very Windowsy.</p><p>What experiences do the <a href="https://helvede.net/tags/fedibrain" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>fedibrain</span></a> have, helping Windows 10 users over to the Linux side?</p>
Thomas A. Frederiksen<p>Dear <a href="https://bsd.network/tags/FediBrain" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>FediBrain</span></a></p><p>Given the recent discussion about children and social media, my oldest and I started talking about what would be a reasonable age for _most_ young people to start a social media journey. If the medium in question is the fediverse rather than a corporate surveillance monolith, what do you think would be the right sort of age?</p><p>Bonus non-poll question: what would be a good sort of server?</p>
SiljeLB<p>What's a good tool for <a href="https://snabelen.no/tags/gamification" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>gamification</span></a> of habits and tasks within a family? Preferably one that has mobile apps for both Android and iOS, is open source, has an API, and can be self hosted. <a href="https://snabelen.no/tags/fedibrain" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>fedibrain</span></a></p>
Anders Borch<p>Someone wrote a blog post titled something like "I am not your vendor" not too long ago.</p><p>Google isn't helping me, and I think the toot disappeared too. At least none of the search words I could think of gave me any hits.</p><p>If you know what I'm talking about, could you send me a link 🙏</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.cyborch.com/tags/vendor" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>vendor</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.cyborch.com/tags/oss" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>oss</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.cyborch.com/tags/FediBrain" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>FediBrain</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.cyborch.com/tags/blog" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>blog</span></a></p>
