Owwww I found out that I could adjust the colors of some things in my #FediLabs app. A bit of tinkering, but the app is so much more "me" now. Cool!

Re: #mastodon apps, reviewed
Most do exactly what #megalodon does and some weren't great to use. #Moshidon is exactly the same but with different colours. Keeping that.
#Fedilabs has an annoying colourful reddit-like vertical line set in front of replies, which messes with my brain; #trunks had the smallest font and that's not ideal; the official mastodon app logs out when you go back one step too many which is not ideal.
I still don't have a translate button
For me it always crashes when I try to report a user. The instant I hit send, crash.
Been having several more crashes with the @apps #Fedilabs app on my Android
Every time I send the crash report email.
I've mentioned my user name a few times, as they requested that I'd inform them.
Did a small cache clean.
Did the whole cache clean...
Restarted the phone.
I just love the Fedilabs app the most! It just really suits my needs and wants for Mastodon!
I use others at times, and while they don't crash... They still aren't my preferred app to use...
I really hope they can sort out what is causing the app to crash all the time. I don't think my phone is too wonky for it? It's an "older" one, being a Samsung S22 Ultra. But the specs aren't that bad I thought for an app like this?
I hoped the cache clear would help. It had gathered quite a bit of data, so I figured it would be too much to handle?
If anyone else using the Fedilabs app has these issues, please use the crash report settings and share them with the devs. Hopefully that will provide them with all the info they need to find the best solution.
I really love the app! Just hate all the annoying times that it crashes on me...
Fankoos in advance to the tech team that can *hopefully* use all the reports I've been sharing and find the solution...
Does anyone else using #FediLabs have issues?
My app keeps crashing. When I open the app. When I want to open a conversation. When I want to reply...
It also has issues with showing the profile names properly, at least for me...
I use an older phone, a Samsung S22 Ultra, but that should still be able to run the app, I recon. I clear cache every now and then, and that seems to help some.
I love the Fedilabs app, it's the one I prefer. But the crashes take some of the joy out of it. So I was wondering if more peopl have issues with it.
I tried to contact @apps here a whole ago but never saw a reply. I keep sending error logs the app provides me with. But the last app update was in March, so I wonder if the app is still being worked on?
Please let me know if you have issues too, so hopefully the app mods will be able to find the reason of the crashes and, hopefully, be able to release an update with fixes...
Ello @apps
I tagged you a while ago but never saw a reply...
I've been having issues with your app. I enabled the error email log, and I've been sending all the logs to the email that its given me when it asked me to send the error log...
I love the app! I love how it shows the conversation when I click to reply. I love the options, the layout, the search for emojis... That's why I bought the app...
But... It keeps crashing on me! And I keep sending the reports. And never get a reply. Haven't seen an update since March either... Maybe you're working on an update now? With the reports about all the crashes?
Please let me know what I can do to prevent the app from crashing so often... I did a new install and that didn't help...
The app also still has issues with showing the profile names properly...
Please make the app more functional again, as I miss it when I use other apps...
Fankoos for the hard work!
Aaaah well.... #Fedilabs has some issues for me again... Over the last few weeks, I've emailed the reports it made when it crashed... I have no idea if they show the receiver anything worthy that can help them fix the bug that keeps crashing it... It's my favorite app, but it does have some bugs...
It still doesn't show all the proper names in the toots (the name of the one who wrote the toots, on the time line). It's had issues for me with saving the draft, and then when I wanna work on it more, it's only got a few lines and not all that I saved...
And then the crashes that happen occasionally. But, as said, I've enabled the reports and I mail them to the email that the app gives me with the reports... Fingers crossed that @apps will be able to use them to fix the app...
As said, it's my favorite app. But I'm glad I can switch to others when it's not willing to work with me...
I've tried #Pachli for a day now. And it's great to use an app that doesn't crash so often...
But in terms of functions/options, I do prefer #Fedilabs.
Why does it crash so often?
They asked for bug reports but I don't know where to find these... I just get a pop-up from Android saying that "it seems this app is crashing a lot" and that's it...
So while I'd love to help Fedilabs make the app better again, I don't know how I can do that...
So I'll just switch between Fedilabs and Pachli and hope that Fedilabs will have an update soon!

I have a weird problem with my (old) Android (7) phone. #Tusky and #FediLabs now refuse to connect to the servers I have an account on (https://mastodon.gougere.fr and https://scicomm.xyz), whereas they're willing to reach others (e.g. https://mas.to) with same #Mastodon version as one of mine. No problem if accessing them via any browser. Turn off/on, reinstall,…
Any idea? Tusky people helped but are now puzzled.
A few questions/fyis as I try out what seems to be a pretty impressive looking #CalcKey
1) I cannot see an "Edit" post option yet, only "Delete and Edit". Is this on the way? The "Preview" function is good, but still it's a step backwards ...
A nice look-feel, especially after I dialled down some of the wizzier UI options and decluttered the default Widgets but ...
2) The use of 'sparkly-text' can be very distracting in posts, names etc, is there a way to turn this off kind of thing in the UI-options or anywhere else?
and
3) Am I right that custom/additional emojies can be added on CalcKey server by the Admin as on Mastodon servers?
FYIs for others trying it -
- I see the android Fedilab app now seems to be working better with CalcKey. I'm looking at that vs MilkTea and vs PWA
- Afaik the ability to Import your Posts/Timeline from a Mastodon server account may not yet handle pics/videos associated with the post. But it's all moving fast so if anyone has this working and done a full post migration, please do shout out?
Thanks in advance, lots of great chat happening on CalcKey I can see!

One feature I would love from #Mastodon #apps, like #Megalodon and #Fedilabs, is for my followed #hashtags to be listed in the #search tab.
Currently, the hashtags shown in the search tab are all of the current popular hashtags on my local #instance. It's very cool to see it, because it shows the activity.
But I follow hundreds of hashtags, and sometimes I even forget about certain topics and hashtags that I am interested in and would love to see the activity in them.
So it would be cool if our followed hashtags are added to this list. Because those are the hashtags that I am interested in, and sometimes these other popular hashtags can be irrelevant to me.
I think it's because most clients don't support good visualization of #threads. When I read your threads, I use apps like #Fedilabs because #Megaladon just doesn't show the content correctly.
I like the idea of threads and how they are being popularized here on #Mastodon.
I even implemented my #bot to recognize threads and only boost the start of a thread and not reply to it to stop this behavior from users.
If they are interested in a post, they can click on it and see the entire thread, and random replies out of context aren't boosted. It drastically increased the quality of replies to post without decreasing engagement.
One thing that I love about #Fedilab is the ability to #follow #instances. It allows you to follow another user's #instance, and it appears to be working quite well, with my #federated #timeline having more posts from those instances that I am interested it. Quite nice, I haven't seen it in other #apps yet
@apps, why does your app load only some of the toots from the users on different instances? Is there a way to reload the profile so I can see more? #fedilabs #fedihelp #fediverse #mastohelp
@apps
Can anyone help me find out if there is a way to add a timeline to the fedilab app interface that, instead of following a list of accounts or a different instance or whatever, follows a specific group of hashtags? I want to see all the local hashtags used for my city in one timeline accessible from the main feed page
If it helps anyone joining, here is a link to a huge set of 3rd-Party Mastadon/Fediverse Apps, courtesy of following @feditips and reading https://fedi.tips
It covers Andoid, iOs, Desktop and more OSs
On Android I've gone from Mastadon > #Tusky (free) > #Fedilabs (paid) but there's a lot more e.g. if anyone uses Subway Tooter or Tooot I'd love to get your thoughts
