This was a delicate operation (trying to slip a loud peeping fuzzy chick underneath an extremely angry broody hen without her noticing the intruder). So, I didn't manage to get any pictures.</p><p>If the mama hen keeps taking care of the chick (so far so good!) then I'll swap another broody hen onto the batch of eggs she's sitting on, and figure out a good spot for baby and mama to hang out safely for a few days.</p>

Eve Ventually<p>Brief recap: Someone claiming to be Nicole The Fediverse Chick has been spamming Friendica and Mastodon for months. That person eventually started spamming Lemmy too. It seems likely the initial campaign was developed to defame and harass a real person. Further iterations may be scammers and spammers testing technology to spam the fediverse.</p><p>Current situation: Someone has been spamming gruesome images of someone apparently supposed to be Nicole deceased. This new spam has been going out on Lemmy. As near as I can tell, this hasn't hit the microblogs (aka Mastodon + *key instances) yet.
