@Windspeaker .... words spoken by First Nation Youth leader 25-year-old Kohen Mattinas, of Lac Seul FN. They were great to interview and I was surprised and filled with so much hope in talking to these young activists and advocates. The future is looking bright if our communities include such bright young people representing youth, Elders, the land, the water and our people.
“We are not waiting our turn to speak. We are taking a stand now to protect the land and our rights to ensure that not just First Nation youth, but future generations, are represented.”

Please, would someone explain to this selfish, narrow-minded, settler OneBC Leader Dallas Brodie, that racism against settlers is not a valid argument! The folk holding all the power complaining about racism! Really?! Who is the racist here?
"..Brodie says private property rights are fundamental to “human flourishing” adding the decision threatens the future of B.C. by establishing what her party calls a “racist, two-tiered constitutional framework that divides Indigenous and other Canadians.”
#Kwakiutl Bear Pole was carved by Mr. Henry Hunt of #Kwawkewlth Indian Band at Victoria, B.C. This iconic #TotemPole was erected in 1966.
Wawatay News is featuring a news story on the Mahmo Inninuwuk Wiibuseego-stamok youth walkers. They covered over 700km and took 22 days to walk the distance in protest against government legislation.
