HBC BRIGADES JOURNAL, 1826:

"Friday. At break of day we Embarked, and having met with no obstructions we proceeded a long distance, and Encamped below Qua's old village. We again had several showers of rain. #HistoricJourney #AmWritingHistory #Books

THE HBC BRIGADES, BLOGPOST:
Only two Brigade Trail journals now exist, that tell the story of the journey from Fort St. James #FortStJames to Fort #Vancouver #WA, via the Okanagan. In this #blogpost they are placed side by side so that you can compare the journals, as the brigade boats made their way on the first leg of the journey south. They were bringing the furs out and would return with their trade goods for the next winter's trading. #History #BritishColumbia nancymargueriteanderson.com/br

Growing up in the #NorthernBC community of #FortStJames, Erin Stagg was surrounded by #Carrier #culture & #learned all about it. At the same time, she found out very little about her own heritage.
Stagg is now an #interdisciplinary #artist who lives in #PrinceGeorge, about 160 kilometres southeast of her hometown. Last week, she was front & centre in the opening of her #NewExhibit at Prince George's #TwoRiversGallery
