WHAT ABOUT THE WORKERS!?!?!?!?!?!
“The right to switch off policy closely mirrors laws introduced in France in 2017, which were designed to end the “always on” culture by making it illegal for employers to expect their workers to be contactable outside designated work hours.
On Tuesday, ministers will confirm that the policy has been dropped …. amid concern that the provision would have placed too much of a burden on businesses.”
Please don’t pretend you’re surprised ToryBoy Starmer is reversing all the progressive promises he made to ‘win’ #GE2024 on 31% of the vote
He lied through his teeth to get Leadership of the New Conservatives (t/a Labour).
If you’re feeling cheated and let down right now you’ve only got your own stupidity to blame.
The rest of us warned you — you chose not to listen.
Scotland — we need to cut ourselves free sooner rather than later.
A caution for anyone in Ireland with a Seanad vote who has moved house - I updated my address on the normal election register and my polling card for the General Election went there but the Seanad address list must be separate as my ballot paper arrived at the parental home. Thankfully am there to pick up, deadline is 29th Jan.
Next steps! Please consider getting involved in tenants/workers unions and in community groups, especially if you're also a young person.
Change is about more than voting once every 5 years; it is something we must all collectively fight for day-to-day!

I'm so grateful to all who gave me a vote and who supported me in any way over the past few weeks and months!
The momentum continues to grow from the locals, with double the votes in half the time canvassing, and I'm proud of how the campaign went!
‘Anti-immigration candidates failed in the real world proving online support is no guarantee of success in a general election.’

I've always liked the apocryphal politician's quote: "The people have spoken, the bastards"
Miriam incredulous about the lower turnout. ‘But but but loads of people watched our glorious RTE debates… does not compute …’ #ge24 #ge2024 #irishelection
Should Ireland have Democracy Sausages and 'I voted' stickers? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Democra... #GE2024 #GE24
It's Christmas Day for election nerds in Ireland today. Forget hurling, forget Gaelic football, our national sport is Proportional Representation - Single Transferrable Vote (PR-STV), and today we're about to witness it in all its glorious beauty!
There will be tallies, there will be spreadsheets, there will be speculation and analysis, and eventually, there will be people elected to Dáil Éireann. There is no greater spectacle in global democracy!
30 minutes to vote for all those who like that sort of pressure when casting thier ballots.
Just voted. Shortage of good candidates here in South Tipp.

All of the Irish mastodon people are preparing diligently for the general election tomorrow, with all of their preferences worked out 15 names down the ballot, and due attention given to web policy matching tools and manifestos skimmed, etc.
In other words, this is the most untypical group of Irish people imaginable. Happy voting tomorrow!
