"Over the last two years, a wave of anti-trans and anti-LGBTQ legislation has swept the United States. Proposals in dozens of state legislatures have aimed to stop schoolteachers from discussing gender or sexuality—to prevent kids from using bathrooms or playing on sports teams as their self-determined gender—to force school officials to 'out' trans kids to their parents—and to make it illegal for trans kids to get appropriate medical care.
"These initiatives target a vulnerable population with no political voice that is already suffering disproportionately high rates of suicide, houselessness, and violence—all of which will be exacerbated by these laws. At the same time, the Supreme Court is in the process of facilitating an assault on reproductive freedom that will also have a disproportionate impact on trans people. Understood as a whole, these laws constitute a concerted attack on the rights to gender and sexual self-determination that #LGBTQ movements have struggled to achieve for decades."

Quite frankly American’s don’t even understand what gender affirming medical care even means for minors in the first place. There’s possibly more to this, remember when Smith’s government transferred operation of some Alberta hospitals over to a Catholic-based operator? The photo in this image is of Nazis plundering the library of Dr. Magnus Hirschfeld, Director of the Institute for Sexual Research in Berlin. Hershfield and colleagues formed The Scientific-Humanitarian Committee, in 1897, to campaign for the rights of LGBT people. It was the first LGBT rights organization in history. Hershfield was an outspoken advocate for the rights of gender and sexual minorities. The committee was based in Hershfield’s Institute for Sexual Sciences until the Nazis destroyed the institute in 1933. The committee provided legal support for people being charged under Germany’s anti-sodomy laws and lobbied to abolish the laws entirely. Albert Einstein, Herman Hesse, Thomas Mann, and Tolstoy all signed their petitions. The Institute for Sexual Sciences provided some of the first gender-affirming care in the world.
Your average cishet person has little understanding about transgender healthcare, especially where youth are concerned.
They’ve either not given it much thought, or they’ve bought into Trump’s lies
Elevate trans voices. Help people learn. Trans healthcare IS healthcare & we must fight for them.
The few people I’ve had conversations with have gone from believing that gender affirming care is “dangerous” to genuinely wondering why anyone would want it taken away from others.
That’s a critical question I aim to leave people with. Why would Trump and others want to take away something which gives people their lives back?
We’re being conditioned to accept atrocities. It’s not about women’s rights. It’s not about protecting children. They’re testing the waters to see how far they can go.
Speak up now. Trans rights are human rights and we should all be paying attention.
Of course, if all people truly had the right to choose and full bodily autonomy, these numbers might be very different.
Protect #Trans folks. All of them. Safety for #transwomen and #TransChildren
Provide #genderaffirmingcare to all, trans and cis.
We are all in this together. Those with power want to control you. They attempt to control the cultural narrative and want us to think #transgender folks are the problem. Worrying us about #immigrants open borders.
They NEED us to be against each other.
I'm here for my #unhoused neighbors.
I'm here for all my targeted neighbors.
