The one thing ive encountered to do with #grapheneos that I'm surprised there is no "real" solution for is NFC tap-to-pay. Google Pay/Wallet doesn't work for Google Play Integrity reasons (read: GrapheneOS isn't whitelisted), and there are no FOSS replacement (because banks and whatever)
Not that I used tap-to-pay a ton anyways, I was just surpised to find that there isn't any non-root workaround or alternative
Trembling a bit this week. Dropped phone. What should I replace it with if I want to run a custom OS? It was a Samsung M10 and I'm fed up with Samsung's OSs and design goals. They make everything from phones to dishwashers difficult for me. I'm happy that it broke!
I was happy with LineageOS on a Samsung S3 for many years.
What are options should I look at? Easy visual interface is very important for me – I need to be able to tell icons apart easily, and the most important buttons must be mechanical, not hidden virtual things that must be revealed by a secret swipe. Camera needs to be silent. Needs to run smoothly (the M10 delays for so long that I repeat actions thinking that it didn't register them, only to find that it has queued them all).
GrapheneOS, perhaps? Switch to iOS (I use a Mac)?

Lots of people seem to have bugs with their #pixel8 screens. Green lines, flickering... Sadly I am one of them.
I would love to send it in for repair, but i can't access store.google.com/repair and keep getting sent a link by google support that throws 403, no matter if i am logged in or not. Am i the only one that is affected by that?
If not for #grapheneos i would regret buying that phone badly.
It's been a week since converting all my personal devices to #linux and #grapheneos. Here are my updates:
1. The process highlighted a lot of things I no longer use that got archived and stashed. If it was not important enough to go through the process, that put into perspective the matter of its importance at all.
2. Google Play Services and apps that force its use are sneaky bastards.
3. The fix for Nvidia GPU drivers is pulling out the GPU, cussing it out, then installing an AMD.
4. The diversity of difficulty closing some online accounts was illuminating. My new frame of appreciation toward online products will now depend on how thorough and easy the account deletion process is.
5. Support your friendly, neighborhood open source devs whose services you benefit from.
6. I'm glad I did this.
I'm using #GrapheneOS every day as my main phone OS, so I'm sponsoring it on Github. Its crazy good for tech and privacy concerned people.
Reminder to go through the apps on your phone & computer.
Don’t use it? Delete it.

Since GrapheneOS has problems to get the sources of Android 16, I call on all Android OEMs to help the project. The developers behind GrapheneOS are doing a great job and it would be a shame if they could no longer do this in the future.

So what #Phone should I get? /e/ seems to be out so the #Fairphone is out as well. So I guess it will be an older 2nd hand #Pixel and #grapheneos
It is incredible sad and utter misinformation that these OS'es are quite regularly touted as secure and private. Well, they are neither. More the opposites.
The Murena head honcho is actively attacking decent secure platforms like #GrapheneOS and spreading misinformation on how secure their OS is supposed to be.
If that was truth, how come I, as an offensive security n00b, can succesfully gain full device access by throwing a RCE at it - which should be fixed in that patch level?

i also would like to leave iOS completely but the only good non-US-corporation OS seems to be graphene, which i am testing already .
but it forces me to use a pixel,which is very huge for a phone, but i want/need a mobile phone to fit in my pocket and not one i need an extra bag to carry.
and there too, the cloud apps behave strange.
