Jonathan Emmesedi
I posted a Fifty Fifty song a little while ago as #KpopOfTheWeek.

It's the second time I've posted a song from that group under that hashtag, the first being "Midnight Special".

Before then, I had tended to steer clear of Fifty Fifty. Although "Cupid", a big success for the group in their first line up, was a song I did not love but nevertheless quite liked, I hated the online drama that erupted with the contract dispute and subsequent reconfiguration of the group. Consequently, I decided not to follow them.

Nevertheless, I found myself playing "Midnight Special" and was seduced. That seduction prompted me to listen to more of their music, which resulted with me being particularly taken with "Gravity". Chanelle Moon's vocals are especially impressive. In the attached MV, she is second from the left, with my bias Athena standing on her right.

In a conversation about agencies' mistreatment of idols with @girlbandgeek and @pixelcats, the latter pointed out that some fan boycott campaigns lacked merit.

The boycott organized by fans of the first Fifty Fifty lineup against the current group seems to me to be one of those ill founded and ill thought out campaigns; the Wikipedia article on the group sketches out the history of the dispute.

I watch "Gravity" with a clear conscience and great pleasure. Saaste
