Holly Beach

I might have shared this image recently, but that’s perfectly fine—I wanted to clean it up a bit, though the changes are subtle. Standing there, gazing down the coastline, was incredibly relaxing. I’ve visited this beach a few times, and this might be the biggest crowd I’ve ever seen during one of my trips.

Ocean Breeze

This serene beach scene captures Holly Beach, Louisiana, nestled along the Gulf of Mexico. I last visited a couple of years ago, and the thought of returning has been on my mind ever since. Scattered along the shore are various gulls and terns, accompanied by lively sanderlings darting between the waves. While these birds add movement and charm to the scene, my true focus was the vast, rolling expanse of the gulf—an ever-changing, mesmerizing backdrop.

📢 Mexican President Sheinbaum said Friday her government filed a #lawsuit against #google for changing the #gulfofmexico to the "Gulf of America" on its US-based maps*

Sheinbaum said at her #media briefing at the National Palace in Mexico City that the government previously warned Google about the issue, but those concerns were not addressed.

Had this been Keir Starmer we would have accepted the name change and then mumbled something about Churchill
I don't see any Claudia Sheinbaum's in the Labour Party, maybe they haven't been allowed a voice yet?

“I found it sort of beneath America in the way that it took place,” #Biden said of the meeting. He also pointed to calls by #Trump to rename the #GulfOfMexico, take back the #PanamaCanal & acquire #Greenland.

“What the hell’s going on here? What president ever talks like that? That’s not who we are,” Biden said. “We’re about freedom, democracy, opportunity — not about confiscation.”

@GottaLaff
This goes beyond his usual pointless stupidity.

Renaming the #GulfOfMexico was instigated b/c he's a #racist f--k, and renaming the "#Persian" Gulf to the "#ArabianGulf" was likely spurred by his Saudi friends informing him "#Persia" was the original name of #Iran.

But beyond #CaptBoneSpurs, wiping out the name of "The Persian Gulf", it also eradicates/dismisses the place of death for thousands of American troops (that I assume would no longer appear on any map.)

After officially ousting out lesbian black TV comedianne #AmberRuffin as confirmed host, the thin skinned US President himself is not even expected to attend next weekend’s annual #WhiteHouse correspondents’ dinner.

The #Drumpf admin has been particularly sensitive to negative press, threatening to jail journalists, and even ousting long time #PressPool members, including a ban on the entire #AssociatedPress org from events for continuing centuries of precedence and refering to the #GulfOfMexico instead of the President's preferred term “Gulf of America”.
