In another, a career supervisor in the department’s Office of #FairHousing & #EqualOpportunity [#FHEO] objected to lawyers being reassigned to other offices; the supervisor was fired 6 days later for *insubordination*.
Advocates sued the Department of Housing and Urban Development on Thursday, alleging that the agency is attempting to weaponize federal funding for homelessness assistance programs to advance the Trump administration’s ideological goals.

Many of the provisions in the ROAD to Housing Act of 2025 would cut red tape around #zoning and building standards.
Housing is possibly the one place where Democrats and Republicans agree on the need for deregulation.
But the package directs a lot of action at the Department of Housing and Urban Development-at the same time Trump cuts budget and staffing levels.
"DOGE"is using a new artificial intelligence tool to slash federal regulations, with the goal of eliminating half of DC’s regulatory mandates by the first anniversary of Trump’s inauguration."
Roughly 100K of those rules would be deemed worthy of trimming, The tool has already been used to complete “decisions on 1,083 regulatory sections” at the #HUD in under 2 weeks, & to write “100% of deregulations” at the #CFPB.

Apparently the Office of the Director (OD) at #NSF didn't even know about this until last night. Then today we had an event at the building where they announced that #HUD will move into our building, and that NSF will be ousted over time with no known relocation destination yet.
The announcement was not well received at NSF today as you can see in this video. They had to move the governor and HUD Secretary to another, closed door location to make the announcement.
