Sometimes I make a post and really can't think of a good hash to put it under. Then later I will so will edit. Maybe I'll edit this one eh?

new release of #Fedialgo, the customizable timeline algorithm / filtering system for your Mastodon feed, counts the number of times each hashtag appears in your timeline even if people don't use a "#" character to give you a better sense of what people are talking about in the Fediverse.
there's a little bit of art vs. science here because some strings are disqualified from this kind of counting (e.g. a word like "the" should not be counted even if some maniac decided to make it a hashtag) so let me know if you see any weirdly high counts.

As many of you have probably noticed, I'm trying to use more #hashtags in my toots. One thing I'm doing, but I'm not sure if it makes a difference technically, is CamelCase for multiword tags, to make them easier to parse when reading (such as #StarTrek and so on). I don't know if it has an effect on search. Are hashtags case-sensitive?
I thought that some of you might find this interesting, since so many in the Fediverse genuinely care about accessibility.

"This article provides an updated guide for enhancing the accessibility of social media posts, focusing on critical elements like alt text, fonts, hashtags, and content warnings. It emphasizes practical tips to create inclusive content that can be navigated by individuals using screen readers and other assistive technologies."
Please, please, please stop putting unrelated hashtags in your posts to artificially widen the audience. It will only get you muted or blocked on a large scale.
