How HR can help
*https://hrexecutive.com/gen-z-is-struggling-with-in-person-interactions-how-hr-can-help/

Every once in a while, HR Executive comes out with an article that is
worthy of attention from psychotherapists. I also monitor them for
higher level trends in healthcare.

Here they are talking about how uncomfortable Gen Z is in "returning" to
(or appearing for the first time at) the in-person office space. They
also discuss some ways that Gen Z can be helped (with a slant that
corporate HR should be building programming to help).

Several possible reasons are given (I favor the lack of social skills &
recent isolation reasons myself). If I'm just speculating I'd also
throw in greater levels of autism. I agree with the article that Gen Z
is more willing to speak-up about what bothers them than previous
generations. I'd speculate they are more willing to blame outside
forces than themselves (I would have blamed myself for being
uncomfortable in my early 20s).

One thing I don't see in the article is a discussion on skills for
directly gently confronting people who are "making" Gen Z uncomfortable
-- they instead discuss reporting incidents to HR.

**Is there actual research somewhere rather than this guesswork?**

*Gen Z is struggling with in-person interactions.
