Im revisiting Hackers and Hackers & Painters. These two books created the techbro mantra of *dont regulate it stifles innovation* mindset. That mindset led to the enshittified platform society we now survive in, as data points to make unchecked wealth for billionaires #ai #IPR #genai #academia

Its so bad I just cannot believe it. It tears up copyright. Its an absolute joke. It means everything hosted on UK servers is up for grabs by the richest companies in the world. Its astonishing. And demonstrates perfectly that the rights of any citizen are worth nothing if the price is right and undermines trust in govt and democracy at its foundation. Appalling betrayal.
