#Infosys co-founder #NarayanaMurthy has once again argued for Indian workers to spend 70 hours a week in paid employment – again – claiming it creates #jobs.

#Weekends were mistake, says #Infosys co-founder #NarayamaMurthy
He defends his belief 70hr weeks are essential and #worklifebalance is bunk
The Infosys founder held prime minister Narendra Modi and his cabinet up as an example of proper workaholics, claiming the PM toils for 100hrs a week, and suggested not following suit demonstrates a lack of appreciation.
“Frankly I was a little bit disappointed in 1986 when we moved from a six-day week to a five-day week,” he added.

#Fidelity customers' financial info feared stolen in suspected #ransomware attack
Insurance giant blames #Infosys, #LockBit claims credit
Criminals have probably stolen nearly 30,000 Fidelity Investments Life Insurance customers' personal and financial information — including bank account and routing numbers, credit card numbers and security or access codes — after breaking into Infosys' IT systems in the fall.

#Infosys enjoyed a boom in UK government invoices in 2023 - https://www.theregister.com/2024/02/13/infosys_uk_government_contracts/ "Linked to the prime minister's wife, the Indian firm achieves contract wins in open and fair process" probably just a coincidence...
#Sunak faces fresh #Infosys scrutiny as minister accused of giving it ‘VIP access’
#DominicJohnson told firm owned by PM’s wife’s family he would ‘do what he could’ to help grow it in #UK

Would you believe it? Well, yes you would. #Fujitsu, at the heart of the PO scandal, has faced #Sunak's wrath so much that he's awarded £3.6Billion contracts to it. There's more, Fujitsu & #Infosys, the Sunak family firm, are partners in a number of projects. What would you call that? Some of this stuff makes Al Capone look like the Angel Gabriel. #GeneralElectionN0W #RejoinEU
I see that #RishiSunak is worried that people might draw the conclusion the the potential #India-UK trade deal which might significantly benefit #InfoSys - you'll recall Mrs Sunak is a major shareholder in the firm - indicates that he has a conflict of interest...
No, we don't think there is a conflict of interest, its already clear that he & his #Tory chums are running the country in their interest - there's no 'conflict', more an even more obvious illustration of #ToryCorruption, that's all!
Anyone in my network know of startups looking for a computer systems architect? My partner is graduating from Northeastern this year with an MS in CS and has research experience at Swarthmore, WashU, and UMD
A firm founded by #Sunak's father-in-law signed a billion-dollar deal with BP two months before he opened hundreds of new licences for oil and gas extraction in the North Sea.

'entirely transparent' meant either that you could see right through them or that you couldn't see them at all.”

Where are the #informationsystems people?! As I gather my communities, I realized they are just not around. That hashtag has nothing.
Isn't it curious who is showing up here and when? A little band of #HCI is here, and another band of #STS, but #IS is wholly not (am I missing something?).
Also amusing is that that while #infosys sounds really techie, as a scholarly community I find they are not soooo much techies. Maybe that's why they aren't here yet? <tease>
