René Dario<p>Great news, everyone! It looks like jekyll (static site generator) works great with Kubuntu 24.10</p><p>That's a relief, because it hasn't always worked for me, but it is the static site generator I've become most familiar with.</p><p><a href="https://raphus.social/tags/ruby" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ruby</span></a> <a href="https://raphus.social/tags/gems" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>gems</span></a> <a href="https://raphus.social/tags/jekyll" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>jekyll</span></a></p>

John<p>I wanted to give my personal site a facelift, so I've been playing with a couple static site generators today.</p><p>I started with <a href="https://oldbytes.space/tags/Jekyll" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Jekyll</span></a> but couldn't get theming to work properly. I gave <a href="https://oldbytes.space/tags/Hugo" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Hugo</span></a> a shot next and things just worked. I'm still getting the hang of things, but I'm really digging the results!</p>
Borutzki<p>Okay, so I've set up a simple blog with <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Jekyll" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Jekyll</span></a>. shellsharks<p>I'm having one of those mornings where I really want to scrap my entire site and re-write it completely. Hypothetically, if I <em>somehow</em> had so much free time that I could do this, who's got suggestions for what static site generator I should go with, and where I should host said site? Right now I use <a href="https://malici.ous.computer/tags/jekyll" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>jekyll</span></a> and <a href="https://malici.ous.computer/tags/githubpages" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>githubpages</span></a>, both with limitations I don't much like so would be looking to try something new.</p><p><a href="https://malici.ous.computer/tags/askfedi" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>askfedi</span></a> <a href="https://malici.ous.computer/tags/fedihelp" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>fedihelp</span></a></p>

I know about all the GitHub automation using their GitHub pages, but I want to <a href="https://social.wildeboer.net/tags/selfhost" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>selfhost</span></a> and already have the sources of my blog in a git repo on my local forgejo instance.
