René Dariotoday was the first day, I ever tried using my <a href="https://raphus.social/tags/keyboard" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#keyboard</a> (Drop Alt v2) with my <a href="https://raphus.social/tags/Android" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Android</a> phone. It worked great as a test! This didn't work with my <a href="https://raphus.social/tags/ipad" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#ipad</a> but now I've got a great option to do tech stuff when I have a keyboard and my phone, but no laptop.

KDEKDE devs have been quietly working on Plasma Keyboard, a new on-screen keyboard for desktop and mobile part of the “We Care About Your Input” KDE Goals initiative. Although not ready for texting yet, it has been making progress. Hopefully it'll be in a screen near you soon. JaneishlyJust realised that my phone keyboard (Swiftkey) now has Copilot built in, and is also probably stealing everything I type. Joy!What's even worse is trying to find an alternative that works in the ways I've grown used to over 10 years.Recommendations, anyone?I need the ability to type in English, French, Swedish (and ideally Manx!!!), long key press for things like å and é, punctuation not too hidden away (?! on the right of the space bar would be nice). Lukáš KotekI bought mechanical <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/keyboard" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#keyboard</a> (87% size) by customklavesnice.cz (at least the base kit is made by Skyloong). It was fun to pick own switches, and specify colors for all the keys, not mentioning the final assembly 😉 The most important: it is really comfortable for writing👌Surprisingly silent (meaning: no clicking sounds). Just backlight (and its multiple blinking/waiving schemes) is ridiculous, but it can be turned off 😅
