The news is so whacky. I’m going to chill and say good night from my corner of the fediverse with “Melody of the night” with Brown Eyed Soul.
Very exciting morning as I found the final 2 items that I want to bring on my Korea trip. The passport pocket was at the bottom of a bin I threw together in 2021. The teeny art kit was in my watercolour case with all my other supplies. I’m sure I’ve looked there multiple times. Rain is falling this morning, bringing green grass. Also, I found the manual for my coffee grinder and I managed to adjust the grind. Some coffee is ground and in the freezer to bring along. #travel #korea #spring

I can't watch Lady Ok. I'm hoping that I might be able to watch some of the unavailable shows while I'm in Korea in a couple of weeks. However, English subs might not be available then.

Today the weather and the air were good, so I brought out Spooky, my 35mm prime lens that almost never fails to take weird but interesting shots. This is a texture study of some bark on the trail. I also caught a bunch of cherry and magnolia flowers, plus a crow in a low branch (check my earlier posts if you're curious)

The #US #imperialist puppet state in the southern half of #Korea is falling apart. #ReunificationNow
As a protestor among millions in #Korea: Please don't use us to denigrate resistance in the U.S. and elsewhere. It smacks of respectability politics and victim-blaming. Resistance movement cultures in the U.S. are as lively and vital as anywhere else, but they're extensively ignored by corporate media and suppressed more violently by far less responsive and despotic governments. The contexts are entirely different and one-on-one comparisons are impossible.

A brown-eared bulbul, one of my favorite local birds right now, is picking away at the flowers in its favorite tree near Seokchon lake
Seoul, April
The lake is also adjacent to Lotte Tower, one of the tallest buildings in Asia and the tallest in Korea, seen here through the cherry blossoms
The circuit winds around Seokchon lake, where many of the cherry trees and willows extend out over the water.

Back in Korea, the cherry trees are blooming around Seoul. Up by Olympic Park, at Seokchon lake, there's an easy circuit that folks can walk around and see some nice blooms. A bit of overcast sky in the morning kept it less crowded than in years past.
