…#Trump is limited in his ability to remove an official from the #FederalReserve, a protection recently reaffirmed by #SCOTUS. Policymakers on the Board of Governors can only be removed for “cause,” which #legal experts define as breaking the #law or gross misconduct.

#LisaCook has consistently voted w/ #JeromePowell & is generally seen as aligned with him on #policy. Ousting Ms. Cook, whose term as governor runs through 2038, would give Trump ANOTHER seat on the 7-member board….

If those who dislike #gerrymandering continue to allow themselves to be gerrymandered out of power, then only those who gerrymander will have power in the #US.

Gerrymandering is unethical, but it is still LEGAL (according to #SCOTUS). So those who #gerrymander have a #legal advantage over those who don't.

To protect #democracy, ethical politicians first need to win control in #Congress (using gerrymandering), and then use that power to make gerrymandering illegal.

Brill · The Danish ‘Coil Campaign’ in GreenlandAbstract This article analyses whether Denmark may have committed genocide against the indigenous population of Greenland by inserting intra-uterine devices into thousands of Greenlandic women and girls as part of a birth control programme in the 1960s and 1970s – the so-called ‘coil campaign’. This question is important for understanding of how genocide can be committed against indigenous peoples as part of colonial abuses. The article provides an in-depth analysis of genocide, focusing in particular on the prohibited act of imposing measures to prevent births, specific intent, and state responsibility. It then offers a critique of the so-called ‘Holocaust standard’, which perceives genocide as a time-intense mass murders committed by undemocratic, violent regimes and which often excludes indigenous experiences of genocide. Lastly, the article analyses Denmark’s obligations for truth, justice, and reparation. It concludes that, while more investigation is needed, it is possible that the coil campaign in Greenland may constitute genocide.

If you can find somewhere safe to store valuables, cops often throw away everything the homeless have left. Many places have short term lockers you can rent for cheap; gyms like the YMCA, transit centers, mail centers, etc. Make sure they have multi day rentals in case you get stuck in jail.

"Advocates in D.C. expect the Trump administration to begin the illegal and inhumane jailing and institutionalization of homeless Washingtonians as soon as today. The White House stated in public remarks that D.C. residents would be arrested for sleeping outside, refusing shelter, or declining social services. There are currently 40 shelter beds for the nearly 900 people who sleep outside in DC and social services remain limited."
