ottO
ok, LazyVim and LazyVim starter "migrated" to brew.bsd.cafe ( why not? ). Let's see if I can get time to do it. #runbsd #freebsd #lazyvim

Eamon
Update: I figured it out, answer in next toot

Would any #LazyVim users be willing to help me out? I'm trying to get a beloved Vim plugin working with lazy.vim and I haven't been able to figure it out.

It's vim-textobj-quote, for putting typographic/"curly" quotes in text: https://github.com/preservim/vim-textobj-quote

David Brockman
Does anyone have a guide on how to set up #neovim on #nixos using #lazyvim ? I would like to let LazyVim manage the nvim plugins instead of having them in my nix config but I'm not really sure if that's even possible.

Eamon
Ok I have spent one working week with #LazyVim and "things that infuriate me" outnumber "neat features" by a distressing margin. I might give it one more week, but it's not looking good for everyone's favorite Neovim setup.

Annika Backstrom
#LazyVim tip: <leader>sk to search keymaps (<leader> defaults to <space>).

e.g. <leader>sk, search "comment" to find the keymap "gc" for commenting out code.

Annika Backstrom
I'm playing around with #LazyVim and a clean config. Not sure if this is a LazyVim question, or a #Vim question, or an #nvim question, but what are the keyboard shortcuts for these autocomplete dropdowns? Is this "omni" completion?

<c-n> for next item, <c-p> for previous, enter to accept the suggestion? Is there anything else? I'm not sure where to find these in the help

Edit: Thanks @dpom, I think all the bindings I care about are indeed within nvim-cmp https://www.lazyvim.org/plugins/coding#nvim-cmp

#NeoVim

Brett Cannon
If I can't convince you to use VS Code, but you want to try #Vim and have found it intimidating, my friend Dusty Phillips has a free book he has started to write on #LazyVim at https://lazyvim-ambitious-devs.phillips.codes/ (blog post about the book at https://dusty.phillips.codes/2024/04/25/lazyvim-for-ambitious-developers/).

Johan 🌀
Hey, #Neovim people. Thoughts on a good mostly pre-made distro? I started learning with NVChad for 3-4 months, then started making my own config from scratch, but I still don't have the experience to make it fully functional.

Considering going back to a dist. Thoughts on anyone in particular? #LazyVim? #NVChad? Other? Looking for something that lets me do things the vim-like way so I can actually properly learn that, and then eventually start making my own config from a blank slate.

The Last Psion | Alex
I probably need a break from it for a few days. I've got a lot of $dayjob stuff to do tomorrow, and really need to spend some time outside too.

When I start again, I *really* need to write some proper tests.

I could also do with revising my #NeoVim setup. It's doing alright, but it's not perfect. I'm thinking of giving #LazyVim a go, then customising it.

For now, it's time to chill.

Sam Clark
damn....but LazyVim has really gotten wonderful hasn't it? What a delightful experience

#vim #NeoVIM #LazyVim

Natenom
Was ich bei #LazyVim gar nicht nachvollziehen kann, vielleicht, weil ich damit nicht programmiere, sondern Markdown schreibe:

Per Default wird permanent Autocompletion angezeigt. Also für alles.

#Vim #NeoVim
