"Photographer’s Once-in-a-Lifetime Shots of the Lunar Eclipse and Aurora" by @PetaPixel - A photographer from Nevada took a chance on the possibility to capture the total #LunarEclipse with #AuroraBorealis. Eclipses always happen on schedule. But #weather may not cooperate. Especially unlikely for #spaceweather. But it worked. https://petapixel.com/2025/03/17/photographers-once-in-a-lifetime-shots-of-the-lunar-eclipse-and-aurora/ #Moon #aurora #astronomy #photography #space
The #moon from my house on the day of the #LunarEclipse. This is a few hours after the eclipse itself. I don't exactly have a clear view for sunsets etc.
The Griffith Observatory broadcast team was incredibly lucky to catch the entire lunar eclipse between rainy days! Check out the time lapse of the event on our YouTube channel.
It was very windy and cold on the roof, but we did it! Very proud of our team.
Finally getting a chance to look at my photos from the lunar eclipse on Thursday. First time in a while not having cloud cover for one of these. #lunareclipse #photography
"Phantom Moon" - I almost missed this eclipse as I couldn't decide where to go so I went back to one of my favorite locations near Big Cypress National Preserve. It's always thrilling looking up at the night sky during these celestial events knowing that I'm looking at the same sight that has sparked fear and wonder in mankind since the dawn of time.

One day after an intense #LunarEclipse in #Virgo
#MercuryRetrograde starts,
highlighting communication and messaging.
Mercury stations retrograde in Aries
with the Moon opposite in Libra , which seeks:
balance
peace
comfort
Dynamic Aries brings the energy of action,
and finding the courage to move toward
lasting peace.

Last night's lunar eclipse as viewed from the Moon.
Photo by Firefly Aerospace's Blue Ghost lander.
Had a lot of fun shooting last night's total lunar eclipse. Having a star tracker this time around really helped with the longer exposures and the rapid-fire shots I wanted for stacking.
Shortly after totality ended, I got really lucky and accidentally captured a plane transiting the moon!
