I watched for over an hour, mostly riveted. I don't understand why #history in the making doesn't pre-empt everything on TV
And then, this huge accomplishment where American engineers pulled success out of the jaws of defeat- at a distance of 240,000 miles away and without visual feedback- wasn't even covered on the 6 o'clock news!
It makes me nuts!
And it makes me fear for the next generation of #STEM students when little kids don't even have the opportunity to get inspired

It seems Odysseus has landed and is sending a signal to Earth.
54 years ago today, the effort of thousands resulted in sending humans to orbit and land on the #moon. My dad was one of them, he worked on the guidance system of the Lunar Module. He received this desk model then, and it was passed on to me after he passed. It was in bad shape, my siblings & I did much damage to it when kids, but a couple of years ago I sent it off to a person that specializes in Lunar Module model restorations & he did a great job.
Watching the potential landing of #spacecraft on the #Moon is good way to spend my lunch hour!
Will be pretty amazing if #ispace is able to pull off a privately-funded #LunarLanding with its first #HAKUTO_R mission — it’ll be even better if it’s able to deploy the small #LunarRover and robot it’s carrying
