Pour une fois, j'en ai fait une version monochrome. Le petit village de Waulsort niché dans un des nombreux méandres de la Haute-Meuse s'y prête bien car le temps semble s'être un peu arrêté là-bas. Lieu de villégiature à la belle époque, le village était desservi par la ligne de chemin de fer Namur - Dinant - Givet - Charleville-Mézières. Aujourd'hui, les trains circulent toujours entre Namur et Dinant et entre Givet et Charleville... De nombreux projets de réouverture ont vu le jour sans concrétisation jusqu'à ce jour... et le seul moyen de relier les deux côtés de la frontière est le bus.🇬🇧 Good morning everyone, have a good Tuesday.Another picture from the archives, from 2002 this time, in fact one of the first digital pictures I took. I made a monochrome version for once.It suits particularly the picture as the time seems to stil stand in the village of Waulsort. Nesting in a meander of the "Haute-Meuse"-Valley, the village was once a touristic destination at the "Belle Epoque" and had also a railway station on the main Line from Namur to Charleville-Mézières via Dinant and Givet. Nowadays trains are still operating from Namur to Dinant and from Givet to Charleville. ÉricMSM🇧🇪🥾🚆🚊🌼🐑🐞📷🇫🇷 L'automne s'installe lentement, mais dans les prochains jours, la douceur sera au rendez-vous. Quelques hirondelles sont toujours là mais sans doute plus pour très longtemps... Pour vous souhaiter une bonne soirée, une vue prise en octobre 2003 dans la vallée de la Meuse avec les rochers de Frêne à Tailfer entre Namur et Dinant. Un RAveL permet de relier à vélo (ou à pied) les deux villes en longeant le fleuve. 🇬🇧 Fall ist slowly coming but in the next days, the weather should be mild and nice. IvesYesterday's <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/climbing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#climbing</a> crag: <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/Freyr" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Freyr</a> in <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/Belgium" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Belgium</a>. Freyr is the largest crag in Belgium with more than 600 routes graded from 3a all the way up to 8c+. These limestone cliffs (up to 120m high!) bordering the river <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/Meuse" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Meuse</a> have been climbed since 1930. As a consequence the holds on popular routes are very polished. Bolt distances can be large too, so climbing here requires both physical and mental strength. That said: Freyr is a beautiful, almost magical place.
