Chopped some wood today, because that's a different muscle group from the sore one.
Then some pointless mowing, because I still need more mulch to cover the former mud pit. And I could barely see my little fir trees anymore.
Also mowed around the no dig beds for weed control. That works well.
First potatoes in the dig beds have sprouted, along with loads of weeds. Seems at least some survived the night frosts and drought and now that it rained (a lot) they got going.
What didn't work was mulching the stupid virginia creeper infestation in the orchard, because its creepers grow just below the surface. Need a flail mower for that or something.

Edit: Forgot the creeper photo
Three out of the four yards we normally mow each time have now been fully mowed and weedeated for the first time this season.
The fourth one isn't tall enough as that neighbor wants his to grow a bit taller each time before mowing.
Glad to have that done and to be back inside where it's nice and cool so I can rest and relax for the rest of the day before the work week starts again tomorrow.
Lawns are done, I’m hot & sweaty
, but at least everything looks tidy & boy - the lawn is very thick & lush after the heat, the rain, more heat cycles. I have a fair bit of weeding to get done by the look of things as well. It feels like this is the tropics lately with the amount of growth of everything. I thought I’d removed all the baby peaches of my mini peach tree due to the ongoing issues with fruit fly every year. Today though I noticed a fallen peach so had a look & it seems I missed quite a few. Interestingly the fallen peach while not ripe, looked ok. I cut it open & it’s fine. So maybe the fact the fruit is late producing this year it’s avoided them
. I don’t know, but I’ll take it. Saying that large mortgage lifter tomato variety which has been good up until now is showing signs of fruit fly piercings in the new fruit coming in - damnit. I may have to pull it out. #GardenWork #FruitFly #Mowing. I’m sharing a picture of the hail damage to the top of my gazebo from the storm a couple of nights ago, this is just one panel of 6 - they all look like this
.
3 lawns mowed today. Cousin is out of hospital and back to his nursing home, so I'll go visit him in the morning.
- Brushing Violet made a nice end to a busy day.
今日は3か所の芝生を刈りました。いとこは病院を出て老人ホームに戻ったので、朝に訪問します。忙しい一日はバイオレットのブラッシングで終わりました。

Happy Tuesday to all of you here within the #Fediverse
How are we all doing today and how was everyone's weekend?
Did you have a long weekend due to the holiday? If so, what did you do, if anything?
What does your day today have in store for you?
The wife and I are going to be mowing all four lawns today since it's nice and cool outside. Not sure what else we might do other than just rest and relax.
3 lawns mowed this morning, then came home, dropped off the mower and went to the feed store for a dozen bales of peanut hay. All loaded into the hay barn. I'm tired now!
今朝は 3 つの芝生を刈り、帰宅して芝刈り機を降ろし、飼料店に行ってピーナッツ干し草 12 俵を購入しました。干し草はすべて干し草小屋に積み込みました。もう疲れました!

Very pleased with today’s achievement: a peening bench for my scythe. Time to clear my little ragwort meadow!
Right, managed to mow 3 lawns this afternoon, and then brought my tractor home and went back and picked up a broken tractor of a friend.
It has a T-shirt jammed into the pulley system. I'll have to take it all apart, pull the shirt out, likely replace the belts, reassemble and return it to her. #DIY #mowing
Went from doing nothing but playing video games all day to mowing all four lawns that we normally mow, edged, weed-eated and got the garden cleaned up quite a bit.
I'm totally exhausted, even with the wife's help.
Now that I've showered, I do believe it's about time for a good long nap here shortly!
4 hours spent #mowing the #archery range today.
It wasn't wasted, as I was listening to the #audiobook of Terry Pratchet's book Nation. Sir Pterry said that he thought it was the best book he had written, and I can see why.
