Rick Thoman<p>Downtown Fairbanks Monday 615am: Mostly cloudy, slight breeze, 44F (7.2C). A couple of rumbles of thunder early Sunday evening. No rain here but there was in nearby places. <a href="https://alaskan.social/tags/MyAlaskaWx" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>MyAlaskaWx</span></a></p>
SilverSalmonAK<p>5:45AM: 45F, looking out the window, I'm going with partly sunny.</p><p>The sun folks are having a few days of bliss around here. </p><p>That's fine. I can be magnanimous! After what seemed like weeks and weeks of rain, I agree it's time for a bit of sun.</p><p><a href="https://alaskan.social/tags/MyAlaskaWx" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>MyAlaskaWx</span></a> <a href="https://alaskan.social/tags/akwx" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>akwx</span></a> <a href="https://alaskan.social/tags/Sitka" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Sitka</span></a> <a href="https://alaskan.social/tags/Alaska" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Alaska</span></a></p>

SilverSalmonAK<p>6:30AM: 43F, partly cloudy says the NWS, but I'm looking at the sun streaming in the windows, so I'm calling it partly sunny,</p><p>It's been a great weekend for walking, but I need to beware of walking too far after I been sedentary for a while.</p><p>I may be 62, but my joints are pushing 80, so....OUCH!😅 </p><p>I'll walk a few more miles today if I can. We're going to have 8000+ tourists today.</p><p>OUCH!</p><p><a href="https://alaskan.social/tags/MyAlaskaWx" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>MyAlaskaWx</span></a> <a href="https://alaskan.social/tags/akwx" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>akwx</span></a> <a href="https://alaskan.social/tags/Sitka" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Sitka</span></a> <a href="https://alaskan.social/tags/Alaska" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Alaska</span></a></p>

Bill Witte<p>43°F, dew point 21°F and a light N breeze under a blue sky at 9:30am on Keystone Ridge. Puffy buildups visible over the Alaska Range. Low last night was 37°F. SilverSalmonAK<p>6:00AM: 48F, cloudy, raining a bit, off and on.</p><p>What amazes me every year during a rainy spring, is how many people who have lived here all their lives bitch and moan about the rain.</p><p>My knee-jerk response is, "We live in a RAINforest, people!"</p><p>You like the lushness of the forest? Thank the rain!</p><p>Granted, the vast majority of folks don't have "reverse SAD" like I do (although I did meet another bonafide sufferer at PT) but still. </p><p>Buck up, buttercup!</p><p><a href="https://alaskan.social/tags/MyAlaskaWx" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>MyAlaskaWx</span></a> <a href="https://alaskan.social/tags/akwx" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>akwx</span></a> <a href="https://alaskan.social/tags/Sitka" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Sitka</span></a> <a href="https://alaskan.social/tags/Alaska" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Alaska</span></a></p>

SilverSalmonAK<p>6:00AM: 48F, overcast (dark and dreary.)</p><p>Here's an ironic twist: I wasn't looking forward to dog sitting at the office in the rain....</p><p>However, Hops' people decided not to go to Petersburg and the Little Norway Festival because....</p><p>It's going to be too rainy. </p><p>Life in SE Alaska folks! </p><p><span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://alaskan.social/@seachanger" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>seachanger</span></a></span> <a href="https://alaskan.social/tags/MyAlaskaWx" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>MyAlaskaWx</span></a> <a href="https://alaskan.social/tags/akwx" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>akwx</span></a> <a href="https://alaskan.social/tags/Sitka" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Sitka</span></a> <a href="https://alaskan.social/tags/Alaska" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Alaska</span></a></p>

SilverSalmonAK<p>6:00AM: 43F, the sun coming up strongly through a few clouds.</p><p>As Mother Nature chuckles softly at my expense, we have substantial rain forecast for tomorrow, when I will be dog-sitting at the office.</p><p>Which means every time Hops wants to go out, I have to take him on a leash. In the rain. Over and over again.</p><p>More rain on Friday also...when again I will have Hops at the office.</p><p>Sigh. </p><p><a href="https://alaskan.social/tags/MyAlaskaWx" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>MyAlaskaWx</span></a> <a href="https://alaskan.social/tags/akwx" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>akwx</span></a> <a href="https://alaskan.social/tags/Sitka" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Sitka</span></a> <a href="https://alaskan.social/tags/Alaska" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Alaska</span></a></p>

SilverSalmonAK<p>6:00AM: 46F, rain.</p><p>In the space of 2 weeks our backyard (and many other places in Sitka) has turned into a lush jungle.</p><p>Shades of green wherever you look. Even with the wild blooming that's going on, the overwhelming color is green.</p><p>Moss, ferns, bushes, trees. All we need is a temp jump of 50 degrees and a macaw to be in the equatorial jungle.</p><p><a href="https://alaskan.social/tags/MyAlaskaWx" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>MyAlaskaWx</span></a> <a href="https://alaskan.social/tags/akwx" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>akwx</span></a> <a href="https://alaskan.social/tags/Sitka" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Sitka</span></a> <a href="https://alaskan.social/tags/Alaska" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Alaska</span></a></p>

SilverSalmonAK<p>6:00AM: 43F, fair.</p><p>My days of waking at 4:00AM are upon me. On sunny days, eventually, that will go to 3:00AM before the solstice blessedly begins bringing darkness back!</p><p>In the meantime, I will say that all the Alaska sun does make for beautiful flowers. Attached are a pics of our rhododendron as a case in point.
