My Liberation Notes - In some ways it feels like a hyper realistic slice of life and in others very dreamy. Absolutely a slow burn so the correct state of mind is needed when viewing. Kdramarama<p>It’s not for everyone but I love, love <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/MyLiberationNotes" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>MyLiberationNotes</span></a>. It is slow, thoughtful and deliberate. It’s not for those looking for pure escapism or [smut] between pretty people or gratuitous violence or fairy tale endings. That frog conversation between Gu and Mi-Jeong was especially memorable to me as someone who’s had the same weird thought processes in life. That episode about their mother near the end? Chef’s kiss. This is a drama which has a shrine in my imaginary <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/kdrama" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>kdrama</span></a> favourites gallery.</p>

Personally, I found the show to be extremely gripping, which is entertainment for me. The characters are super interesting and you root for them to sort their way through situations that seem impossible. See the comment about slow dramas.</p><p>At this pace with sparse dialogue, the acting has to be phenomenal to keep our interest & convey meaning - body position, a glance, a sigh, a gesture mean so much. No action, little romance, & characters that are annoying & unremarkable mean that the drama is the story & it delivers.</p><p>You wonder what is the point? Is this all there is? Will I ever know myself? How do I navigate a relationship without giving up myself? It seems very strange to me that someone so unqualified would be given a 2-year position at a conglomerate like this one.<br>I did enjoy the characters and acting a lot. For me, that was slice-of-life perfection (same writer as <a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/AnotherMissOh" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>AnotherMissOh</span></a> and <a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/MyMister" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>MyMister</span></a>). Each of the 3 siblings had a wonderful story arc, IMHO.
