Bradley Taunt<p>Wrote a little post about my <a href="https://mastodon.bsd.cafe/tags/Starlink" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Starlink</span></a> and <a href="https://mastodon.bsd.cafe/tags/OpenWrt" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>OpenWrt</span></a> setup:</p><p>"Starlink, OpenWrt, and Eeros... Oh My!"</p><p><a href="https://btxx.org/posts/starlink-openwrt/" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">btxx.org/posts/starlink-openwr</span><span class="invisible">t/</span></a></p>
Bradley Taunt<p>The old (original) <a href="https://mastodon.bsd.cafe/tags/openwrt" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>openwrt</span></a> Luci theme is objectively better than the current default "bootstrap" variation.</p><p>There. I said it.</p>
Large Format Projectionist<p>How the hell can't I make a WiFi extender, connected to the main router, in <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/openwrt" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>openwrt</span></a> ? Ethernet connects my OpenWRTs on every floor. The three devices are identical so I think I should end up with configs for the BaseStation and Extenders (1 &amp; 2).</p><p>There are plenty of wireless WiFi extender methods, but why waste my radio bandwidth for that?</p>
Paula Gentle on Friendica<p>Noch kurz der <a href="https://libranet.de/search?tag=Stromverbrauch" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Stromverbrauch</span></a>: Laut meiner <a href="https://libranet.de/search?tag=Shelly" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Shelly</span></a> zieht die <b>OpenWrt One</b> mit 3 Clients 4 Watt.</p><p>Ich finde, das ist ein anständiger Wert.</p><p> <a href="https://libranet.de/search?tag=OpenWRTOne" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>OpenWRTOne</span></a> <a href="https://libranet.de/search?tag=WLAN" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>WLAN</span></a> <a href="https://libranet.de/search?tag=Hardware" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Hardware</span></a> <a href="https://libranet.de/search?tag=OpenSource" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>OpenSource</span></a> <a href="https://libranet.de/search?tag=openwrt" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>openwrt</span></a> <a href="https://libranet.de/search?tag=network" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>network</span></a></p>
Paula Gentle on Friendica<p>Um die <a href="https://libranet.de/search?tag=FritzBox" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>FritzBox</span></a> endgültig kicken zu können, brauche ich noch eine Lösung für mein Gigaset Phone, welches via <a href="https://libranet.de/search?tag=TAE" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>TAE</span></a> aktuell dort angeschlossen ist.</p><p>Könnte mir schon vorstellen, dass es für <a href="https://libranet.de/search?tag=OpenWrt" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>OpenWrt</span></a> auch ein Software-Plugin für <a href="https://libranet.de/search?tag=VOIP" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>VOIP</span></a> gibt, aber dann brauche ich wohl auch noch ein Stückchen <a href="https://libranet.de/search?tag=Adapter" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Adapter</span></a> <a href="https://libranet.de/search?tag=Hardware" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Hardware</span></a> für die blaue Kiste.</p>
Paula Gentle on Friendica<p>Die Brutto-Durchsatzrate von 780 Mbit/s ist ja ganz nett, aber entscheidend ist, was real rauskommt.</p><p>Ein Vergleich mit der ollen FritzBox zeigt eine Steigerung der Performance beim <code>secure copy</code> von einem lokalen Server im LAN um Faktor 10.<br>Erreicht werden 32 MB/s.</p><p><a href="https://libranet.de/search?tag=OpenWRTOne" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>OpenWRTOne</span></a> <a href="https://libranet.de/search?tag=WLAN" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>WLAN</span></a> <a href="https://libranet.de/search?tag=Hardware" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Hardware</span></a> <a href="https://libranet.de/search?tag=OpenSource" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>OpenSource</span></a> <a href="https://libranet.de/search?tag=openwrt" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>openwrt</span></a> <a href="https://libranet.de/search?tag=network" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>network</span></a></p>
Paula Gentle on Friendica<p>Das erste Test-Setup ist per Webinterface schnell gemacht. Vermutlich war ich zu langsam bei der Bestätigung und die voreingestellte statische Verbindung wurde wieder aktiviert.</p><p><a href="https://libranet.de/search?tag=OpenWRTOne" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>OpenWRTOne</span></a> <a href="https://libranet.de/search?tag=WLAN" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>WLAN</span></a> <a href="https://libranet.de/search?tag=Hardware" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Hardware</span></a> <a href="https://libranet.de/search?tag=OpenSource" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>OpenSource</span></a> <a href="https://libranet.de/search?tag=openwrt" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>openwrt</span></a> <a href="https://libranet.de/search?tag=network" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>network</span></a></p>
Paula Gentle on Friendica<p>Also das <b>OpenWrt One</b> macht erst mal einen grundsoliden Eindruck. Das sehr stabile Alu-Gehäuse ist mit vier Schrauben zu öffnen und man kommt an alles problemlos ran.</p><p>Alles ist vormontiert, nur die Antennen muss man noch dranschrauben.</p><p>Achtung: Man sollte gleich dran denken, eine Batterie (CR 1220) mit zu shoppen, denn die ist nicht im Lieferumfang dabei.</p><p><a href="https://libranet.de/search?tag=OpenWRTOne" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>OpenWRTOne</span></a> <a href="https://libranet.de/search?tag=WLAN" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>WLAN</span></a> <a href="https://libranet.de/search?tag=Hardware" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Hardware</span></a> <a href="https://libranet.de/search?tag=OpenSource" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>OpenSource</span></a> <a href="https://libranet.de/search?tag=openwrt" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>openwrt</span></a> <a href="https://libranet.de/search?tag=network" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>network</span></a></p>
Paula Gentle on Friendica<p>Die Kombination aus Specs der <a href="https://libranet.de/search?tag=Hardware" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Hardware</span></a> einerseits und <a href="https://libranet.de/search?tag=OpenSource" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>OpenSource</span></a> andererseits hat mich überzeugt.
