Luxon's wife to the best of my knowledge has never held a job outside their home. Luxon has never directly experienced a working partner.
Add to that his fundamentalist Christian beliefs - we're dealing with a man with very conservative views about women's role in society. Finally, there's the reputation at AirNZ for perpetuating a "boys club" environment.

Since coming to power a bit over 18 months ago, this rightwing government led and dominated by conservative mostly white men has blatantly enabled attacks on the rights of Māori, the trans community, people with disabilities and now women.
This is a truly bad government - in 3 key ways: it has and is grossly mismanaging the economy, denying environmental & climate damage, and harming the human and civil rights of the vast majority of it's citizens.

We need to ensure #payequity becomes an absolutely huge electoral problem for this conservative coalition gvt run by rightwing men with shameful assistance from a few co-opted crumb maidens.
Women - esp low income women, migrant women, women of colour - are being sacrificed to pay for this gvt's tax cuts for the affluent and well-off.

I can't believe our little country has regressed this far under the Luxon coalition. To some extent you expect ACT's racism, NZF's anti-science backwards thinking, even National's plundering of public services with a 'Reverse Robin Hood' approach to wealth redistribution.

But denying pay equity to women? That's a new low.
