Incredible. Managed to find solutions to most issues about leaving Google on an Android, with plenty of open-source and free app alternatives.
Can I find something to replace Google Wallet to use NFC? Nope.
Refusing to move to Samsung/Apple Wallets since - yep - they're Big Tech.
Why doesn't PayPal have NFC? Would seem a logical alternative to me.
Anyone else sorted this 'de-googling with NFC capabilities' conundrum out?

#PayPal wants me to "complete a verification process" after being a customer for 23 years. This process involves scanning my ID front and back, and providing a selfie for comparison.
That's a big fat FUCK NO! Total privacy nightmare. 
What are your recommendations for an alternative to PayPal and Stripe?
Which services offer similar products, but with better practices in regard to data privacy and data residency?
Heads up for folks using #Paypal:
Many people I know occasionally use their accounts to deal with one-off activities - running parties, selling things for a club, and so on. They often ask folks to use the "friends and family" option to send money for that, so as not to get whacked with a fee.
PP has just updated their TOS (https://www.paypal.com/us/legalhub/paypal/upcoming-policies-full); from what I see, I *think* they're clamping down, and may automatically reclassify you as a "merchant" for this.

Wir wollen Alternativen zu US Firmen. Der aktuelle Quasi-Standard um Geld unproblematisch an jeden zu transferieren und auch online zu bezahlen ist ja #PayPal. Einfach anmelden, Kreditkarte hinterlegen, läuft.
Wir benötigen eine europäische Alternative. Die gibt es. #Wero heißt sie.
Also dachte ich mir, ich melde mich da mal an um zur Verbreitung beizutragen. Und dann muss ich feststellen, das es nicht unkompliziert ist, sondern Banken mit Wero zusammenarbeiten müssen. So wird #unplugTrump nix.
