Saustrup
I honestly thought my car-fixing days were over, but turns out I'm still a cheap ass, when it comes to things I can actually do myself. Our #Peugeot 208 had it's 4 year service check yesterday, and they offered to replace the worn out rear brake pads and disc for around €550. It's a dirty job, but tends to get more difficult, the older the car is. With that in mind, and knowing that the spare parts themselves only cost around €160, I decided to replace them myself. Last time I did this sort of work, was on my 2001 Octavia, so not only did I change from what's basically a German car to a French car, but a lot has happened in the time being. The design of the 208 seems a little less over engineered but did require me to look far and long for a T55 torx head. Once that was in hand, and I had consumed a video about resetting the pistons on calipers with electric parking brakes, it was pretty simple. ~€375 saved. Emergency braking at 130 km/h tested a couple of times. All good. #car #diy
